  1. Chapter eight was a very short chapter and didn’t have much interesting events taking place. I thought it was boring because all that happened was Katy accompanying her father to the asylum because she was so bored at home and didn’t have anyone to talk or play with. I thought it was really scary how the woman in the asylum kept on screaming. Through my perspective, I see Katy as a brave girl because if I was her age even at my age now I would never want to go to an asylum. For some reason I feel as if the asylum has a significant role in the story.

  2. Henry Thatcher was called to another hospital while he was getting ready katy wanted follow him to these hospital shes never been to the father told her no because it was no ordinary hospital but instead it was a asylum, a asylum is where they keep people that just stare into space or talk to themselves some would actually get up and dance to no music playing. Katy was so eager to follow the father when she did she stayed outside the asylum till the father was finish with what he was doing. While katy was waiting outside the hospital she was scared and she heard a scream coming out of the asylum, I would be actually be scared if I was the same age as katy and while waiting outside a hospital, since im a grown up now I think I can manage it.

  3. One Saturday morning, Katy was so bored nothing to do, because everyone had their own businesses, so she decied to followher father to go to the hospital. At there, she waited outside for her father and after awhile, she heard a terrible scream of a waoman. It was so terrible to make Katy scared. On my experience, I had really bad memories about hospital. Wherever it was, there was an injection always and I did not like it so badly.

  4. I think Katy is really interested in her father’s job. He went to the Asylum for someone who are ill and can’t take care of themselves and Katy followed her father. He told her he will not take her inside, but Katy still followed him. When her father went inside the house, Katy talked to the horses and read the book. I think Katy is really spunky and brave girl and she seems she really obey her father. And I think Katy’s father, Dr. Thatcher is a good father and I guess Katy is learning a lot of things from her father.

  5. CHapter eight was really interesting for me and scary as well. I liek the part where KAty followed her fahter to the asylum. I thought that was insane. KAty is a really brave child, for a young girl like her others would be crying ten minutes after arriving. I thought the part where the lady was screaming was scary. At that moment i could already tell Katy was starting to feel frightened because she started stomping her feet, if that was me i wouldnt be stomping i'd probably be yelling for my father from the top of my lungs, and crying as well, lol.

  6. This chapter makes me feels kind of bad and sad about those men who worked at the Schuyler’s mill. There was a fire that happen there and Katy’s father when there to help because he was the only doctor in town. I think that Katy’s mother is good mother and a wife, she cares about the husband and those other men that when there to help. Again! In this chapter Katy is talking about Jacob, Katy mentions something about Jacob having this thing with animals. I feel sorry for Jacob because he does not like that fact that the animals are getting hurt. On the farm Jacob’s father wants Jacob to follow him in town so that they could make the butcher kill the cows or pigs bit Jacob would always run away. I think Jacob runs away because he does not like to see the animals get hurt or die.

  7. Only thing that interest me is the asylum that is located near their place. I often imagine an asylum as a terrible place to live, ironic how the name defines protection, but I see it as jail or hell. The asylum I imagine full with crazy people, trying to suicide, trying to kill another, inside in the head basically, and men in white suits trying to control them, stabbing them in the neck with medications, etc. Although she was afraid she understood that those people had problems going on in their head. Hopefully if I become a doctor, and wherever I am I hope to pursue more to be a neurologist to help people with psychiatry problems. It’s just influencing to see people with mental problems, I just happened to feel the urge to help some way.
