Chapter 19 - Son of a Mob
Please post your thoughts about the character and events on chapter 19 of the Son of a Mob here.
My favorite part in this chapter was when Vince went to confront his father and told him that Ray was the inside man all along. I love it because at first they started in this really heated argument with Vince saying that if his dad didn’t leave Ray alone, he will put in evidence that would have both Vince and Tommy behind bars because of his betting scheme on Vince’s website. Shortly they make up, his father being proud of him because he cracked cases that even he wasn’t aware of. However; the best part was when Vince realized that his dad had actually set up a college fund for him, and that his credit card was actually legit.
Chapter 19 was good. Vince went to confront his father to tell him who Ray was that he was the inside man. It was so intense because Vince told his father if he didn’t leave Ray alone he will put evidence in so his father and Tommy would go to jail. Then later they make up because what Vince did all this time, he solved the problems that even his father wasn’t aware of. What really shocked me was when Vince’s father said he set up a college fund for him; I never expected that out of him. He was a good father after all.
At least Vince turns out to be motivated and aggressive; he had been helping Ed & Jimmy, struggling back for his girlfriend, and hitting into evidence against his own father. Vince could've been a perfect boss for a crime organization like his own father, but I'm glad he knows that it's not the right thing to do. Well, Vince gives a real battle against his own father. I see that Vince is trying hard to prove his point and convince his father about it, in a straight up and direct tone. One by one the problems and misunderstandings are healing, showing that it's almost the end.
Now, after reading this chapter, I could understand the conflicts and fights between Vince and his father alittle. I do not know how it sounds, but it is great that both of Vince and his father are not expressing their feeling outside. Jimmy is someone's friend or brother. If this happens to me, I never ever forget him any ways. However, this chapter impresses me a way and makes me angry on the other
This chapter was so impressive because it showed a good conversation between Vince and his father. Vince told him that Ray was an inside man and told him to don’t go to looking for him. I think his father was surprised because Vince was trying to convince his father with his own opinion. When I read this chapter I thought the father and son are just alike. But end of this chapter everything settled down and I think Vince and his father get closer. I like this chapter because of all events; now they understand each other better than before.
Vince here finally stood up to his father and told the father not to do anything to ray because ray is a a man of his words and ray is a police man a undercover type of guy he told the father that ray was keeping track of what the father was doing all this past times, ray told Vince that he would be gone for some other reason, I enjoyed this chapter because it’s hard to find a honest person like ray, being always honest to someone is always a good thing it can get lots of friends where ever you go. But just make sure your being honest in a good reason.
Vince tries to help Ray, by telling him to get out of the place and also he goes to his father to makesure and to tell him not to do anything Ray.Ray really is a good guy he just wanted to help out.i think Vince's dad is really a father after all, he knew Vince wants to go to college, so he put aside college money to help his son.thats what fathers are.to me atleast...

At every moment, Gordon Korman throws in another piece of the plot to thicken and enrich the book. Not deep by any standards, this book does have an amazing correlation to Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet." Vince and Kendra, being the "star-crossed lovers," and their families of completely opposite backgrounds makes the book suspenseful and comical.
It's a classic Romeo and Juliette tale with the softy-mobster meets tuff-FBI-agent-kid. Vince wants nothing to do with his family's business, and from what we can tell, neither does Kendra. They're obviously a perfect match but before they can get any real action in, their outside lives kick in. Since Kendra's father has Vince's house bugged (and for another secret reason) her father soon finds out about the teens' secret love. I don't want to give away the book, but as most fairy tales turn out, they live happily ever after.
