Saipan Southern High School book club members and other island teens discuss their books of interest by writing their thoughts about the book choice of the month.
In my opinion this chapter has a lot of interesting things going on. For one Alex pretends to be distraught for Vince about the breakup with Kendra, when I suspect that he might be the one to blame somehow. I don’t know why, but I just got a feeling that he does. Then Vince tries to read one of his cat ads through Kendra’s perspective and I think she may be right that it is a secret code to something. Later Vince and his dad gets into a huge argument because Vince finds out his dad’s guys are the ones who are ripping Jimmy Rat and Ed off. Now it seems like things are different between him and his father, but I like this chapter.
Chapter 16 had a lot of interesting things going on. Alex, the character I really disliked in this chapter, who I thought was annoying, pretends to be disappointed about the breakup. When really I think he did something. Then Vince gets into an argument back home with his dad because somehow Vince found out that his dad is ripping Jimmy Rat and Ed, the guy with the guardian on life support off. Things are starting to change between Vince and his father; things are a lot different now. Everything started when Vince got involved in the first place. I knew it he should’ve let Jimmy take care of his business but knowing Vince in this book his softhearted and caring.
Oh, great- Vince goes deeper into the problem and finds more unknown and unsolved answers; Jimmy and Ed's Platinum Coast business is a fraud made by one of the Uncles- which means the money streams up to Anthony Luca, Vince's dad. I feel pity for Vince as the chapter passes, since he's breaking his own rules just to help a couple of debtors. In a way, he's a really caring guy who wants to help anybody in distress; but in another way, he's just an idiot dumb enough to be in everybody's problems. Because of all this, his relationship with this father is breaking, and the tension between the two is turning into a fight. I hope that the father-son relationship will heal soon (and also the relationship with this girlfriend!)
I think I like this chapter, there are many things going in this chapter. I think I can understand Alex that he tell Vince to break up with Kendra for some reason. On the other hand, if I am Vince, I consider about my best friend's advice, but I will do as best I can the way not to break up as I love her. This situation is really bad, but just in this case, Vince and Kendra should be stick together closer and prove themselves that they love each others so much.
When I read the first part of this chapter I felt so bad for Vince because he still loves Kendra. And I don’t like Alex because before, he told Vince to break up with Kendra and now he’s trying to comfort Vince. And I was really excited when Vince found out Platinum Coast business was related to his father. When he found out everything, he went to his father and starts to fight with his father. I think Vince was disappointed at his father and now I can see some distance between Vince and his father. I hope there is no more fights between Vince and his father.
My opinion for this chapter is that vince still feels the same as before for Kendra , alex here is is trying to help vince get back to Kendra bightly because it wasn’t vinces wrong doing he was trying to help thwe two poor guys that are trying their best to come up with something to pay up their debts, I cant really relate to this because im not a son of a mob or I don’t have a family member who belongs to the mob crew or and who runs a mob I don’t want to be a apart o this mob thing because I jst don’t like dealing with drugs and what not…
Alex is being such a pain in the ass.he's acting like as if he feels bad for Kendra leaving Vince, but in the first place he was always fighting with Kendra.for some reason i think he has something to do with it.he never liked Kendra so i think he took the pictures and turned them in to Kendras father. Vince is in so much shock because he finds out that his dads workers are the ones taking all Jimmy and Eds money, but why would they do such a thing??i think Vince's dad is trying to teach Vince a lesson, but we dont know that yet, so lets read on to find out.
In this chapter there was a lot of interesting things going on. For one Alex pretends to be sad for Vince about the breakup with Kendra, when I think that he might be the one to blame. I don’t know why, but I just knows that he does. Then Vince tries to read one of his cat ads through Kendra’s view and I think she might right that it is a secret code to something. Later Vince and his dad gets into a huge argument because Vince finds out his dad’s guys are the ones who are ripping Jimmy Rat and Ed off. Now it seems like things are different between him and his father, but I this chapter was great.
