  1. Chapter five to me is a chapter of fun and excitement. I thought it was hilarious how Katy’s neighbors, the Stevensons’ hired girl forgot about the tea towels which then froze up sitting out overnight. It’s amusing how she has to crack them in half and then have them defrost. I thought the best part was when came out to go sledding and had so much fun together. I liked how Peggy always kept an eye out on the children, making sure they were always fine. I found it really interesting how the Bishop’s hired girl Nell who is also Peggy’s sister seems to have developed a fling with Paul, her employer’s son.

  2. On the snowing day of December, Katy and friends go out to make a snowman and ride sled at the small hill and big hill. When I read this chapter, it reminds me about my memories that almost have been forgotten. The last time I saw the snow and play with my friends was about seven years. When I thought about this happy memory, some kind of feeling shivered in my stomach through my heart. After read this chapter, I sent an e-mail to my friends which should done by long time ago.

  4. I really like this chapter because I felt so peaceful when I was reading this chapter. With a first snow, they were having a great time. They made a snowman and went to sledding. I think Nell is really strong and lively girl but both Nell and Peggy have a strong sense of responsibility. I was surprised about Peggy because she was so strong and sturdy when they went up to the hill to sledding. And Katy was unexpected because she was frightened to sledding. I think they were so excited like a children and had a great time.

  5. CHpater five was okay for me i guess. First off, i thought it was funny how the hired girl left the tea towl out over night and got frozen, and she hadto crack it in half to defrost it. I also thought the part where they were building a snowman was interesting because as thye were building it the hired girl came out to get the towels and saw them and asked them if they needed carrots and that she was going to get it for them, she also added that they should put some coals on for the eyes, and said she was getting that too, how nice. ANopther part that was interesting for me was when they went sledding, because it was just so interesting i could already picture it.

  6. In this chapter I think it’s funny how Katy wants to know a lot about Jacob. To me I think Katy enjoys being around Jacob. Maybe Jacob and Katy can make good friends (if only Jacob would look at Katy and talk to her) at least that’s what I think. In this chapter I think it’s wonderful that Katy is going to have a new brother or sister. I love the fact that Katy’s father is being honest with her. I enjoy this chapter because of Katy and there are also a lot of things happening here in this chapter. I love the fact that Katy’s father tell Katy everything she have to know like for example the part about being pregnant, I think it’s right for Katy to know where babies come from. It’s really funny how they told Katy about the Bishop, they mention that they found Austin little baby sister in the garden. I think that it’s really silly of the Bishop to do such thing.

  7. Nothing too interesting again and I’m frankly tired of reading and wish I could stop. I’m bored of this book so badly, and this book about snow just makes me wish I’m out of Saipan. The tea towels that were left out and had to be broken to be taken of was just meaningless to me. It was sort of funny, but yeah I wish school was out just like this book. Maybe I’m just wishing I’m out already, we didn’t have to practice for graduation, and that there were no final exams or exit exams. I wished it snow here too though, that would just make me want to stay here a little bit more. Lol, a the last part about Peggy telling Nell to Sshh. Resembles me when I tell my loud mouth siblings when they are so noisy.
