  1. I really enjoyed reading chapter four. My favorite part in this chapter was when Katy asked her parents about motherhood and where babies actually came from. It was funny how her mother got all nervous when she asked the question, but her father then brought her to his office to explain the process. Katy perfectly understood and thought it made more sense than finding babies in the garden. She seems real clever and was excited to have a new baby sister or brother. That made me like her character so much more. I found it very interesting when Katy discovered Jacob in the barn and tried to be friendly so that they could get more acquainted.

  2. One day, Kate asks her mother about how the baby gets been and born. This question startled Katy's mother and she could not know and find a best word to explain this. Katy's father saw this and led Katy to his office which was always locked. Katy's father took out a statue of part of woman's stomach in the cupboard how baby happened to be born. I think Henry, Katy's father, was a great father, because he had never been nervous on the flurried question rather than he explained very kindly.

  3. As time when by it was almost henry’s birthday, katy and peggy went to the public library to find what was actually good for henry Katy’s father, katy found something good it was a book of card tricks katy waited top go home and asked the mother what she picked for her father the mother laughed and told the father, henry Katy’s father took Katy out to took to her in the office, henry showed katy a picture of a baby in a womans stomach she didn’t know what wasa it tikl te father told her what the baby was doing in the stomach and told katy that the mother has a baby in her stomach either katy was excited. I would never make any girl girl pregnant not if unless we are settle to have a baby.

  4. I really enjoyed reading chapter four. My favorite part in this chapter was when Katy asked her mother where do babies come from and she tried to cut the conversation and father went ahead and took her to his office to explain where babies really came from. I was shocked as i was reading when i came to the part where Katy's father agreed to explain where babies came from. Katy later understood where babies came from instead of finding them in the garden. I also thought it was crazy how Katy found Jacob in the barn and tried to be friendly so that they could get close.

  5. In this chapter I felt sorry for Katy because on her birthday she had chicken pox and now she just recovering from it so her father wants to take her out to Schuyler’s Mill. On their way there they saw a boy and Katy notice him from a distance that it was Peggy’s brother Jacob. This chapter makes me feel sorry for him. Jacob doesn’t have magic or something. Jacob is a boy that makes sounds like shoooda, shoooda, shoooda. That is a sound of the great grindstone at mill. Jacob makes sounds or imitates the sounds that he likes, just like the great grindstones. I think I like this chapter because of Jacob, Katy and Katy’s father. They are good characters. This chapter is also very long…

  6. Long and boring once again, I almost can’t stand reading this book! Although some people thought this chapter was interesting, I got bored! I think Peggy introducing her to maternity clothes sparked Katharine to think where baby really did come from. Her dad then showed her everything, with I guess a manikin pregnant woman. Then again, Katy met up with Jacob at her barn. Again, as I said before he has a strong liking for animals and this just backs up what I said more. What astonished me was when they said Jacob lives like four miles away, and that he runs back at night all the way to his house. It’s sad and lonely, but just leads me think about my problems and how big I think they are, but in fact aren’t really big after all. Compared to the world and everyone in it and then the universe, my problems aren’t anything.

  7. Chapter four was funny and interesting. I think this little girl, Katty is really active and she really wants to learn everything. It was funny when Peggy told Katty about a Jacob. They were talking about cute little kittens and Peggy told her sometimes Jacob has to drown them if there are too many new little kittens. And Katty really got scared and started to imagine. I guess Katty is learning a lot from Peggy, because she also taught her how to read some difficult words. The funniest part was when Katty’s father took Katty to his office to teach her how this little babies coming from.
