  1. I found this chapter to be very short and not at all interesting for not a lot of exciting events took place. Katy just explained about what seemed to have happened Nell after that night of the terrible incident with the baby. It looks as if no one had any idea what became of her. However a man mentions to Katy’s father that he saw a woman working in a tavern who looks, sounds and acts just like Nell. But they didn’t say anything to Peggy because they didn’t want to make her upset. So I didn’t really enjoy this chapter.

  2. No one knew about where Nellie was after she left her family and farm to wnt somewhere. One day, a friend of Katy's father saw a woman who worked at Baltimore, working in a tavern, was called by Nellie. It was almost for sure that she was Nellie, but Katy and her father decided not to tell anyone even Peggy. I can not understand about this, beacuse Peggy's family should looked for Nellie and they all missed her. If Katy and her father really cared for Peggy's family, they should tell them.

  3. This chapter was boring because it doesn’t really show what happen to Nell. I knew that she will left the farm someday because she doesn’t like the farm. She was ambitious and she always had a big dream. And one of Mr. Thatcher’s friends told him that he think he saw Nell in Baltimore but they didn’t tell Peggy because they don’t want to make her mad and worry about Nell. I was surprised when Mr. Thatcher’s friend told him that he saw Nell at a tavern, because I thought she will become a famous girl and change her name as Evangeline Emerson. I felt so bad for Nell when I read this chapter.

  4. Henry Thatcher’s friend told Katy’s family that he saw a girl working in Baltimore working in tavern, he explained her he said that she was loud when she laughs talk or what ever she does she’s loud, Katy thought to herself that Nell is doing a good job out their trying to survive on her own she was the oldest in her Stoltz siblings. If someone told me that they found one of my friend in these place maybe I would go and visit them because it’s been long time I’ve never seen them, let’s see about it because if their place is far then forget it.

  5. Chapter eighteen didnt have much going on. It wasnt interesting at all. It was pretty short. It just explained how Nellie wwent missing after the incident with the baby. They never saw her after that. THey said they might have seen her in baltimore working in tavern but they didnt mention it to peggy, they kept it a secret. Chapter eighteen was pretty sort so because of that i ran out of things to write.

  6. Chapter 18 – Nell, After
Nellie, I wondered what would happen to her too. I feel sorry that she’s not where she wanted, and as always sometimes our dreams won’t come true, and especially being a star. She chose the wrong profession to pursue, and the probability of her being chosen was really low. The pictures play a big role in this book and seeing Nellie, just makes me feel sorry for her that she didn’t make it where she wanted. But at least she is in a place where she’s happy, and laughs loud all the time. Probably she’s ashamed of herself that’s why she hasn’t shown herself to her family or Peggy either.
