  1. Chapter 12,
I think everyone is fed up with Teri; she won’t listen to anyone or accept help. Her mom doesn’t really care about her and Teri is just messing up her own life. I can’t believe Mitch actually told people about Kate’s college issues, I kind of trusted that he’ll find a way to help her instead of just talking about her. Kate should start applying for colleges so she can finally live on her own and make her own decisions. I feel sorry for Toby, he didn’t really know his mom and he wants to write about her. If I was in Kate’s situation, I would help him out. Poor Rev.Malone he’s fed up with Teri attitude and trying to help her, if she doesn’t want to get help than I think they should just let her live her life, even though it’s going to be hard.

  2. Mitch is a snitch! what a backstabbing boyfriend. Just great! I thought he would have been someone she could lean on. Kate should move on and try to get into other colleges, instead of beating around the bush about it. She has better things to worry about, she has much more options. Even Teri. She should be woman enough to prove that she can do better. Aaw, and Toby’s situation really filled my eyes with tears, It reminds me of my cousin… How his mom died. I think Kate should pay much more attention to Toby, and share some stories about their mom. Kates father, as much as we all see that he is trying to help her, he probably should just refer her to a mental facility.

  3. I feel like same as her because she is still worry about her college and family. I am not good at English now and I am junior. I am worry about what I am going to be? also my family. I am first son in my family. I need to do well, but I can’t do well I don’t know what is problem, but may be my environment is different from Korea. Why nobody says that “rest little bit” I want to rest like her. But may be when I rest too much, then many thing will be changed.

  4. In chapter 12, I felt really bad for Kate. I felt bad for her because of what her boyfriend, Mitch did. I can’t believe that he went around and told people about Kate’s problem with college. What a boyfriend!!! I expected more out of him. I thought that he was someone Kate could talk to and make her feel better, or at least try to comfort into applying to other colleges. I think everyone is already getting tired of Teri. She should just listen to everyone trying to help her out.

  5. Her restlessness is sort of how I feel sometimes. Sometimes enough isn’t enough and I can’t get enough. All the stuff happening in my life isn’t just real it’s happening and there isn’t anything to stop it. I think Kate shouldn’t be ashamed she got rejected, its life, and even though Mitch talked about it to people, it’s only because he got accepted. What a preppy guy, so obvious he’s being obnoxious and snobby just because he got into Harvard, and all of a sudden he thinks his “all that.” Its good Toby tries to remember his mom and writes a biography about her. As for Kate, and same for me, running away from problems never solve it. Catalyst: substance that increases the rate of a chemical reaction without itself undergoing any change. What Kate calls her book, and probably her life? She’s been affected with a lot of stuff, but she is still the same.

  6. Her mind was all about university acceptance and rejection, father, teri, and Mitch. From the beginning of this book, the MIT stor never stopped and I think she will end up this story with this university in somehow. Her relationship with Mitch is on and off...And I think Kate is very unpredictable and untruthful to her friends and family. She does not want to show what is in her mind. That brings the gap wider and deeper. Her life in this chapter was full of dull, gloomy, and heavy. It does not show any improvement or better advancement. To be honest, I want the author of this book to get the main point and tell us all about this recycle and predictable story line. This book tells about Teri's anger..Kate's worries..over and over again..And it does not really stimulate my interest or imagination.

  7. Still Kate is having stress about her rejection from the MIT, she should get rid of MIT and it is time to look another way. I know it is good to decide one way and follow without any changes, but there is no way to go to MIT. She should look for different ways instead of standing in same place and pondering about the rejection. And I couldn’t believe Mitch told people about Kate’s rejection. What was he thinking about? He knows that she only told him about rejection and she applied for only MIT. I think he is not helping…seriously.

  8. just by reading this chapter i can tell everyone is mad at Teri.their all trying to help her, but she doesnt want to let them try.even the reverend is trying, but he's fed up from trying.all these people are putting in all they have for just one person, whose mom doesnt care what happens to her, teri should atleast let these people try.as for mitch, i think he's just like every other boy you meet.he's such an ass for telling people about Kates college situation, if i were Kate id slap him in the face and tell him off.

  9. In the chapter 12

I can't feel what is Teri feeling, because i never have this kind of experience, but i know Teri was so sad and maybe also hard to try ,trying to open heart and lets anyone who like Kate to help her. but, i think Teri can't do like that, so, Teri close heart again, let nobody can close to , whatever, this chapter is talk about Kate, she always care her family, boyfriend, but, i don't know why he do like that. .angry for everybody. even me, if is me. whatever, i will never seeing again..

  10. I feel bad for Kate because she has a boyfriend she can’t trust anymore. Mitch should be ashamed of himself and Kate should dump him. Kate went to him for a reason and that’s because she thought that Mitch would never do something ridiculous like what he just did. I also think that Kate should talk to Toby about what she remembers about their mother, Toby should know a little about his own mother. Furthermore, I think that everyone is getting annoyed by Teri, she wouldn’t listen to anyone and she doesn’t want anyone to help her. Teri should know by now that she needs professional help.
