Final Stand Tall

Do you think the book ended well? What did you get out of reading the story? If you were to write the ending of the book, what will you write?

  1. Final
I think the story ended that well at all. It's because there are things that went undone like Tree's own mother getting back with the dad instead of her new "boyfriend". Or what happened to Tree's brothers and what they did after that. There didn't seem to be a family reunion in the Parade at last chapter or something like that. What I got from reading the story is more courage than ever and thinking about what others seem to be too. If only I could help Tree though. If I wrote the ending of the book I would make Tree's family together again and make them have a better life. I guess that's it for the book. I really enjoyed it and it was a great thing to read for those who aren't truly intact with themselves.

  2. I think the story ended well in a way, but didn't end well in another way. The ending of the story didn't meet all my expectations. First of all, I am so proud of Tree and Sophie. They are both younger than me, but they experienced more than me. I think they know more life than me. They were able to control themselves, they relied on each other, helped each other, and came to the point where they were able to accept and understand everything. Tree and Sophie always had faith and were truthful. They were so brave and they also knew how to stand up for each other. By reading this book, I learned how much I need my family. I've never thought of my parents getting divorced. After I read this story, I thought that I wouldn't be able to handle it if I was Tree. I realized that there are a lot more people suffering from whatever the situation is. I know that I should be thankful of my life and family now. This book also taught me to never put myself down and I could use some of the advices in the book when I'm having trouble. If I were to write the ending of this book, then I would absolutely find a solution for Tree's parents so that they can make a happy family again. I also want to add that grandpa can finally walk by himself without any help. I know that takes time, but still. Lastly, I would write something like, two years later, and tell the readers how the characters are doing after they've been through all this.

  3. I think that this book really ended well. I enjoyed reading the book. I learned that you just have to try hard to cope with problems and that help will come unexpected. This is a great book and just learning about Tree’s life was interesting. Many people are going the same situation that he’s been going through. It’s hard at first but in the end you will feel that you can carry on. Life is hard when you don’t do anything about it. Tree did well on coping with everything. If I were to write the ending of this book, I think that I would say that Tree was the pro in his basketball team. Also I would say in the way end that Tree’s parents got back together and they all lived happily ever after.

  6. Developing a plantation economy to promote the export of tobacco, indigo, tea and coffee, the French largely ignored increasing calls for Vietnamese self-government and civil rights. A nationalist political movement soon emerged, with leaders such as Phan Boi Chau, Phan Chu Trinh, Phan Dinh Phung, Emperor Hàm Nghi and Ho Chi Minh fighting or calling for independence. However, the royalist Can Vuong was defeated in the 1890s after a decade of resistance, and the 1930 Yen Bai mutiny of the Viet Nam Quoc Dan Dang was put down easily. The French maintained control of their colonies until World War II, when the war in the Pacific led to the Japanese invasion of French Indochina in 1941.

  7. Despite taking fewer losses during the course of the war – the Expeditionary Corps suffered one-third of the casualties of the Chinese and Soviet-backed Viet Minh – the French and Vietnamese loyalists eventually suffered a major strategic setback at the Siege of Dien Bien Phu, which allowed Ho Chi Minh to negotiate a ceasefire from a favorable position at the Geneva Conference of 1954. The colonial administration ended and French Indochina was dissolved under the Geneva Accords of 1954, which separated the forces of former French supporters and communist nationalists at the 17th parallel north with the Vietnamese Demilitarized Zone.

  9. Cook the sardines slower than the trout, and flip the trout after a few minutes, when the skin is nice and dark and you can visibly see the flesh for at least 50% of the fish has cooked. If you have a well seasoned grill, or a grill grate that is cleaned, scraped and well oiled, flipping an oily fish should be no problem, but if the fish is large, you may need an extra set of tongs. The sardines are small enough where flipping them is a piece of cake with just the tongs. Cook them however you’d like, but I like it so the skin is nice and dark and crispy.

“Er — Mr. Black — Sirius?” said Hermione.
Black jumped at being addressed like this and stared at Hermione as though he had never seen anything quite like her.
“If you don’t mind me asking, how — how did you get out of Azkaban, if you didn’t use Dark Magic?”
“Thank you!” gasped Pettigrew, nodding frantically at her. “Ex¬actly! Precisely what I —”

The official religion is Theravada Buddhism which is practiced by around 95% of the Cambodian population. The country minority groups include Vietnamese, Chinese, Chams and 30 various hill tribes.[6] The capital and largest city is Phnom Penh; the political, economical, and cultural center of Cambodia.

  18. Rebuilding from decades of civil war, Cambodia has seen rapid progress in the economical and human resource areas. The country has had one of the best economic records in Asia, with economic growth growing an average 6.0% for the last 10 years. Strong textiles, agriculture, construction, garments, and tourism sectors led to foreign investments and international trade.

  19. There is some sparse evidence for a Pleistocene human occupation of present day Cambodia, which includesquartz and quartzite pebble tools found in terraces along the Mekong River, in Stung Treng and Kratié provinces, and in Kampot Province, altnough their dating is unreliable.[9]
Some slight archaeological evidence shows communities of hunter-gatherers inhabited Cambodia during Holocene: the most ancient Cambodian archeological site is considered to be the cave of L'aang Spean, in Battambang Province, which belongs to the so-called Hoabinhian period.

  20. Iron was worked by about 500 BC, with supporting evidence coming from the Khorat Plateau, in modern day Thailand. In Cambodia, some Iron Age settlements were found beneath Angkorian temples, like Baksei Chamkrong. Others were circular earthworks, like Lovea, a few kilometers north-west of Angkor. Burials, much richer, testify to improvement of food availability and trade (even on long distances: in the 4th century BC trade relations with India were already opened) and the existence of a social structure and labor organization.

Daily treatment of DPB with macrolide antibiotics such as erythromycin eases symptoms and increases survival time, but the disease currently has no known cure. The eventual result of DPB can be respiratory failure and heart problems.
