Chapter 25 - Stand Tall
Grandpa comments on the ending of the chapter, " A flood is like a war, because it can take so much with it." What do you think this means? Give some personal examples.
Chapter 25 Looks like Tree has to save more than he can handle. I mean, they're just pets so at least the owners should find another place of their own since Tree found his. I guess sharing is caring. It makes me wonder where's Sophie when he asked. Maybe if the people had more faith then it would spread and make everyone feel stronger and less afraid so there wouldn't be a sign of distress causing everything to crumble. I think that it's nice though to have people who care about others and not be greedy for a person to have a sort of hostile actions.
i guess sharing is caring. It makes me wonder where's Sophie when he asked. i think this part is really tough for sophie because tree is really looking for her and she was no where to be found and i think what tree did was good to call her and let her know that he need help.
The flood is coming closer and closer. Tree is still trying to save as much animals as he can. Sometimes, having a kind heart can make your life really complicated. People don't even realize your hard work at times. Everything event that happens in this story seems to relate to grandpa's Vietnam war. I think this is how life is: like a war you have to fight through. Tree's dad is so proud of him for acting so much like an adult and I do too. He's really trying hard to make an effort. Tree really has a warm heart. I think grandpa's quote means that once something big like a flood happens, there is always some kind of damage to our lives. People can be hurt and they can be killed. You try so hard to protect yourself, but it doesn't work out the way you want it to be. This is also how a war is. You work so hard to fight, but you lose so many people from it.
Chapter 25 According to the comment that Tree’s grandpa said, I think he meant that the flood can destroy everything that you have. You just watch everything on television and see the flood wash away everything that you leave behind like most especially your home. It’s sad though to see this because it just tears everything apart. Also it creates a huge conflict between human beings and the environment around them. So there’s this battle between natural disaster and human beings. Ultimately the natural disaster wins. It wipes out everything you own. This is one thing why I really hate about floods or any other natural disasters, they annihilate just about everything that you really love. Once it destroys everything, it leaves a huge catastrophe for us to clean up. This entire calamity that war of floods leaves is like a foot print. It will always be a memory in people’s lives.
I think grandpa meant that the flood can take everything away from you, just like a war. Everything you left behind, it will be gone becaouse the flood will wash away everything left there. There are things that you can recover, but there are some things that you can't. Life, whether it's a human or animal, you can't recover it. Once you're dead, it's over.
