City of Ember - Overall

Based on your reading experience, how do you rate this book and why? What would you have change it different to make it perfect? Will you read the sequel to the book? Why or why not?

    From a scale of 1-10, I would rate this book at 10, just because of the fact that Lina and Doon found a way out and they never gave up hope. I wouldn’t change a thing about this book, how the story goes is how the story goes and it wouldn’t be interesting to me if I changed something. The book version is better than the movie because in the book it explains life in the unknown world but in the movie it just ends in the unknown world. The book version is always better for me [: I would definitely follow up with this book because it’s so remarkable and I want to read about Lina, Poppy, and Doon’s new life, I’m curious with Mrs. Murdo I hope she followed the instructions on the rock.

    This book is perfect the way it is!! I enjoyed it.

    I would probably rate this book at around 7-8. It was much better than the catalyst which had repeating situations and no specific theme. This book had an interesting beginning which questioned me whether this story is going to be horror or romantic. I like the part Doon and Lina had a specific reason and motivation to reach the unknown place. In order to find the way, they had a rising point..and climax that kept me on the track. And I did not have a hard time to understand this book..except the last chapter where the woman descibed the way to the underground.

    As a whole, I liked this book which had a clear flowing. Continuous expected happenings aroused me to read more and more. I think i would read the sequel to the book because I want to know whether the people would listen to Mrs.Murdo or not..and the afterward story after all the people from the city of Ember finding the unknown region.

    10, hands down. The book was great overall, and especially interesting to me. It’s just the fact of living somewhere else were no one knows. It’s freaky and weird that people would suggest the earth was doomed and end up being wrong. It’s really interesting, it reminds me of the movie The Island and others I forgot the names. It’s just interesting! You must read it if you haven’t. Only wrong thing is that I wish that the mayor had been exposed. I would want to read the sequel because I want to see who’ll be their new leader. Also I want to see if Lina and Doon hook-up or something. Maybe they might find someone else in the new world. Anyways straight and simple; I would read it.

    I read experience from 18 to 19. I think this chapter really good expression for Linna and Doon and Ember. I think this chapter is very rate for in the book. Lina and Doon was very tired, but they found something so, they got a hope. I don’t want to change I like begging to ending, but I want more story about city of Ember. Because in this book its show about only Lina and Doon’s story and in this book last part, just pick up a note and looking, but I want more story about Ember people, how to do and how do you though; I want know that so I want more sequel to the book.

    I think that I would rate this book a 10 because it was an interesting book to read. At first, I didn’t think it would be all that interesting, but as I kept reading, it wasn’t so boring after all. I wouldn’t change anything about this book because if I changed something then it wouldn’t be interesting anymore. My favorite part was when Lina and Doon finally found the way out of Ember. The book is perfect the way it is.

    My overall opinion on the City of Ember is that the book is a great piece. It had an exclusive ending which made me want to read the second part. I’ve always had the feeling that The City of Ember was somewhere locked away underground. Through my personal opinion the ending was the best. I was so relieved when Lina, Doon and Poppy got out of Ember alive. It was best that they did, for in the City of Ember everything was just corrupted including the official. I hope Lina and Doon do better of in the real world. Living in a disadvantaged place like ember, and then coming out to see the real world is probably going to be the most memorable experience of their life.

    I would rate this book 10, first of all this book was the best book that I read in this class. Also this book was sort of different than other books; especially the underground city hooked my sight. Who would imagine writing a story about an underground city? It was really interesting book. And I would change anything from the book, because everything sounds perfect. Lina and Doon found a direction and succeed to find a new world from the city.

    Yes I will read the sequel to the book, I want to find out how the people from Ember will adapt to their new world.

    I think that I would rate this book a 10 because it was an interesting book to read. At first, I didn’t think it would be all that interesting, but as I kept reading, it wasn’t so boring after all. I wouldn’t change anything about this book because if I changed something then it wouldn’t be interesting anymore.
