Chapter 22 - Friction

The book shows Alex's letter to Simon. What do you think about it? If you were Simon, what would you tell Alex in your response letter? Do you like the ending of the book? What would you have done better?

  1. Alex becomes thirteen and before the school starts, she buys new clothes and school necessaries especially she wear a bra. Everything is changed even the Simon’s rumor has forgotten. Alex starts her life in new school. At first, she is so nervous, but when she is going to be applied, it will be comfortable. Now, this is the last chapter of the story and when I close the book, the title of the book reminds everything and becomes a good experiment for me.

  2. :) The letter that Alex wrote to Simon was pretty awesome for a young girl to write to her teacher, Alex wrote this letter because she felt like it’s the only way to keep in touch with her best teacher that she ever had. She said in her letter that she was going to transfer to another school in the next school year. And if I were really Simon and I wanted to write back to Alex my words would be, something like “ I’ve read the letter you’ve sent me, anyways as for me I’m doing good here in the new school that I’m teaching, students here are well behaved either” that’s what I would probably write to Alex :]

  3. I think that the letter is really touching because it took her that long to write that letter and it really shows that she wrote it by heart so yeah I think that the letter part was the best way to tell him you are sorry. If I were simon I would write to alex and tell her that she is forgiven and never to do again. We will always be friends but not as student and teacher but as best buddy, that’s what I’m going to say if I were simon. I like the ending of this book it means a lot because it shows how much simon cares about his student and how the students care about their teacher. I would not believe anything that I don’t see in my own eyes to make thing better for me in school and for my friends too.

  5. I think the letter was a good idea. It was good, and it was hard work, it even took her a while to write it. She wanted it sound well, but sometimes when there are a lot of things on your mind suddenly your mind goes blank. And if I was Simon I’d write back off course and explain it all. I'd be like, you know Alex, things happen for a reason, and people make mistakes so LEARN FROM IT. I’d say I forgive you but don’t do it again because you never know who’s forgiving and whose not. Things like this can get very dangerous.
