Chapter 17 - City of Ember

Doon doubted if Lina will be able to make it to the Pipeworks. If you were in his shoe, not knowing what happened to Lina, will you still go on with your search for a way out of Ember? Do you think Lina's decision to bring Poppy to the journey was wise? Why or why not?

  1. If I was that far I’d probably will, because what is the use of turning back when your wanted by your citizens and they’ll probably throw me in jail and now you can’t further my journey. I wouldn’t want to remain in Ember when I knew I could have found a way out. However, I wouldn’t want to continue this journey without my partner, I would probably need someone to help me and figure things out or what if I get injured who will help me then… there are the up’s and down’s to this kind of situation. I do think Lina’s decision to bring Poppy was wise, because If I was in Lina’s shoes and I had a baby sister, I wouldn’t want to leave her behind in all these darkness, I would want to share my happiness with her since she’s the only one I have left and little kids are fun to have around, they keep you on your feet and entertain a lot.

  3. If I was in his shoe, and if really like that, I will still go on with my search for a way out of ember, because maybe we can’t understand what feeling they have, and we never lose our freedom, so, we can’t understand what is about disappointment with a life in a place where always darkness. I have both way to think Lina’s decision to bring Poppy to the journey, yes, from Lina’s grandmother past the way, there only Lina and her sister, so, if Lina alone went to find a way went out of ember, I think she will always worry about Poppy; but, if she bring Poppy together go, I think that also is dangerous, because we don’t know what will be happen, right? So, if change me, I shall be very hesitating. But, here, I’m not Lina, so, I don’t know what she think about.

  4. This question is about when Doon doubted if Lina will be able to make it to the Pipe works. I don’t understand because friend is believed each other. But Doon doubted Lina and if I were in his shoe, will I still go on with my search for a way out of Ember. And Lina’s decision to bring Poppy to the journey was wise! Why? Because Poppy is really need for people. Because Poppy is already human curter. And I want more in Ember secret. I knew they could have found a way outside. But I think more secret in behind. So, Lina keep more journey and continue journey.

  5. I would turn back around. Especially if I have to deal with living alone, I can’t stand. Also if there wasn’t any way to return back to Ember or to tell the people the way out; how can he be considered a hero? For some people it may seem irresponsible and wrong to bring a little child. But it’s good she cares so much of Poppy and rather has her up there with no riots and things going on. Better than being stuck in Ember trapped in the dark. Also if they really made a way out, why would they make it the most dangerous way? So they were pretty sure it was the way out, and knew that it wouldn’t be that bad.

  6. If i were Doon, I probably will go on with my research for a way out of Ember. Even though I have no idea where and what Lina is doing, the purpose of his taking a risk was to find a way out of Ember. And if I successfully accomplish what I was looking for, Lina will be released and will be found not guilty about the "rumors." And I think if both of Doon and Lina give up what they were willing to do.. There will be a black out and lack of foods..forever..

And I dont think bringing Poppy with Lina is a wise idea. What if the way out of Ember does not exist?..they probably lose the way and can not come back.. If I were Lina, I will find a way of Ember FIRST and then...I will come back and bring Poppy with me..

  7. If I was in Doon shoes I would probably still go on with my research to the way out of Ember..Because there are peopple that are waiting to see if there really is a way out of Ember, but at the same time I would want to stay back because I would not want to leave a good friend behind..Also I think that it was wis that Lina Brought Poppy with her to the journey because baby Poppy was all that Lina had in her life..Becasu you might not know that there is a way out of Ember and atleast she dont have to go back and get her..Anyways who would even take care of at Ember when all these problems are happening.

  8. If I were Doon, first I probably try to look for Lina and wait for her until I give up. Because she is the only one who helped me through to find an exit. I won’t just leave her and search for the exit. And I think Lina’s decision was a wise idea to bring Poppy to the journey. The city is not safe anymore, there are blackouts going on and Lina is the person who is responsible to take care of Poppy. Although the journey is dangerous I believe it’s better for Lina to go with Poppy because we don’t know what may happen to Poppy at the city.

However, the bun was extremely light in texture, but strong enough to hold up to the pressure of eating a burger and easy enough to bite through without having to tear meat, toppings and bread all over the place. It was very well orchestrated. The meat itself was quite delicious and moist, the caramelized onions really came through the cheddar and the bacon… well, you can never go wrong with that. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the tomato chutney, as I felt it was a great tomato sauce but, in my personal opinion, I prefer the more uniform texture and sweeter flavor of a ketchup

Earth.[45] Its orbital elements were first calculated in 1783 by Pierre-Simon Laplace.[46] With time, discrepancies began to appear between the predicted and observed orbits, and in 1841, John Couch Adams first proposed that the differences might be due to the gravitational tug of an unseen planet. In 1845, Urbain Le Verrier began his own independent research into Uranus's orbit. On September 23, 1846, Johann Gottfried Galle located a new planet, later named Neptune, at nearly the position predicted by Le Verrier.

  45. As others have pointed out there's a $1 transaction for any item such as armor, weapons, etc. which is only taken if the item sells. So that's the flat $1 fee for those types of items, and honestly I would personally expect most people to be interested in both selling and buying these types of character improvements.

Separately, there is a 15% transaction fee for any commodities (again, only if they sell), which are items that stack such as gems and gold. We take a percentage due to the way commodity sales work. You can put up 50,000 gold for sale, and because people can buy portions of commodity auctions, one person may buy 10,000, another may buy 30,000 and maybe nobody buys the remaining 10,000. Instead of charging $1 per transaction, which certainly wouldn't be fair to the seller in the case of commodities as they have no control over how many different people may buy from their auction, we go with a percentage. If that original 50,000 goes up for say $5, there would be a $0.45 fee on the 30,000, and a $0.15 fee for the 10,000, totaling a $0.60 fee for the sales that occurred.
