Chapter 15 - All American Girl

Samantha remembers the term "frisson" that her sister mentioned in the previous chapter. What does that term mean? Why do you think she suddenly thought of the term? What event made her realize that it is true/untrue in her life?

  1. I think that in this chapter she is finally realizing everything that they’ve been telling her. She didn’t want to believe the whole frisson thing. I think in this chapter she knows what she is feeling but then again just avoiding it. I think when her sister’s told her about the whole frisson thing only one thing came to her mind and she was right about that feeling. I think when she began having butterfly’s in her stomach that’s when she realizes that there was something funny she really didn’t like. When Sam is around David she feels funny and there is no one to blame it’s just how she feels. She likes him but yet don’t want to admit it.

  2. I think that the term frisson means to be in love, I don’t really know but the way the sentence goes, it kind of sounds that way. Somehow it kind of mean to fall for a person but you just realize it, so yeah that’s what I think frisson mean. Ok for me I think she thought that term means like something bad, like a sexual kind of thing… like for an example Sam have this sexual feeling for David. Ok for me I think that the event that she thinks it’s true but untrue at the same time is falling for David. I think she knows that she’s in love with David but she just won’t believe it.

  3. The reporters are everywhere and they want to take a picture and interview of Samantha, but really annoying her and people related to her. When Samantha arrives at the Susan Boone’s Art Studio, everyone welcomes her except the bird which could follow the human words. Susan asks people to a white egg on the white. At first, Sam thinks it could not be possible, but it happened at last. Samantha draws a white egg that she sees not depend on her imagination. It impresses Susan and Sam finally gets what Susan meant to see a thing before.

  4. Frisson!? I think that frisson really means in love, or I think that it’s something that deals with an intercourse or something like that if I’m not mistaken. This frisson thing happened when Sam and David were both eating in a restaurant David rubbed his legs against Sam’s leg’s, Sam felt something in her stomach funny again she didn’t know what to do because she started feeling funny things while things are getting romantic at the same time. She suddenly thought of this term because the sister told her about this frisson thing and she didn’t know what this meaning is.

Most likely she will, but if she doesn’t then I’d avoid staying clear of this option. The chocolates are quite nice on the outside, my favorite being the dark chocolate (isn’t that always the case?). All of them come decorated with a cute little heart on the outside of the chocolate, which will let you know what you’re eating.

  15. In 1916, Emily Murphy and a group of women attempted to attend a trial of Alberta women accused of prostitution. She, and the rest of the group of women, were ejected from the trial on the grounds that the testimony was "not fit for mixed company." Emily Murphy was outraged and appealed to Charles Wilson Cross, the Attorney General of Alberta, arguing "If the evidence is not fit to be heard in mixed company, then the government [must] set up a special court presided over by women, to try other women." Much to her surprise, the minister not only agreed, but appointed her as the magistrate. However, on her first day on the job, her authority to preside as a judge was challenged by a lawyer on the basis that women were not "persons" under the British North America Act. In 1917, the Supreme Court of Alberta ruled that women were persons, thus settling the issue for Alberta, but not for the rest of Canada. Sometime later, Emily Murphy decided to test the issue in the rest of Canada by allowing her name to be put forward to Robert Borden, the Canadian Prime Minister, as a candidate for Canadian Senator. He rejected her on the familiar grounds that women were not "persons".weight loss diet planMaintenance Free Swingsets

He spent some time in Constantinople, whence he travelled on horseback to Vienna—a journey which in later years he used to mention as one of the most agreeable rides he had ever enjoyed.

Charleston is known as The Holy City due to the prominence of churches on the low-rise cityscape,[5] particularly the numerous steeples which dot the city's skyline, and for the fact that it was one of the few cities in the original thirteen colonies to provide religious tolerance, albeit restricted to non-Catholics.[6] Many Huguenots found their way to Charleston.[7] Charleston was also one of the first colonial cities after Savannah, Georgia to allow Jews to practice their faith without restriction.

  32. The adjective of Uranus is "Uranian".[41] It has two astronomical symbols. The first to be proposed, ♅,[f] was suggested by Lalande in 1784. In a letter to Herschel, Lalande described it as "un globe surmonté par la première lettre de votre nom" ("a globe surmounted by the first letter of your surname").[34] A later proposal, ⛢,[g] is a hybrid of the symbols for Mars and the Sun because Uranus was the Sky in Greek mythology, which was thought to be dominated by the combined powers of the Sun and Mars.[42] In the Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Vietnamese languages, the planet's name is literally translated as the sky king star (天王星)

  33. There are some reasons to believe that physical seasonal changes are happening in Uranus. While the planet is known to have a bright south polar region, the north pole is fairly dim, which is incompatible with the model of the seasonal change outlined above.[102] During its previous northern solstice in 1944, Uranus displayed elevated levels of brightness, which suggests that the north pole was not always so dim.

This information implies that the visible pole brightens some time before the solstice and darkens after the equinox.[102] Detailed analysis of the visible and microwave data revealed that the periodical changes of brightness are not completely symmetrical around the solstices, which also indicates a change in the meridional albedo patterns.

  38. As others have pointed out there's a $1 transaction for any item such as armor, weapons, etc. which is only taken if the item sells. So that's the flat $1 fee for those types of items, and honestly I would personally expect most people to be interested in both selling and buying these types of character improvements.

Separately, there is a 15% transaction fee for any commodities (again, only if they sell), which are items that stack such as gems and gold. We take a percentage due to the way commodity sales work. You can put up 50,000 gold for sale, and because people can buy portions of commodity auctions, one person may buy 10,000, another may buy 30,000 and maybe nobody buys the remaining 10,000. Instead of charging $1 per transaction, which certainly wouldn't be fair to the seller in the case of commodities as they have no control over how many different people may buy from their auction, we go with a percentage. If that original 50,000 goes up for say $5, there would be a $0.45 fee on the 30,000, and a $0.15 fee for the 10,000, totaling a $0.60 fee for the sales that occurred.
