Chapter 13 - Stand Tall

Describe the Christmas Eve for their family. How does each of the family members deal with the divorce? Do you think they are justified? Why or why not?

I think each of the family members deal with the divorce differently and probably on their own because they don't want anyone to know how they feel or how their actions are bad. I think it's a good thing that Tree's grandpa is the only one who can keep his head straight in the family. I like those kinds of characters in stories, they keep things flowing. Even though Tree's grandpa lost many things during the war, there were also many things he gained at the same time, and it was self control and clear thoughts on situations. I think it wasn't really justified in their Christmas eve because they should try to invite the mother over and see if things work out with the parents.

  2. Chapter 13
I think the Christmas Eve was about being with each other, dad, grandpa, Curtis, Larry, and Tree. Everyone forgot their presents but I think that grandpa made a good point that they didn't need any presents, they'll do it naturally. I think that grandpa wants them to feel the same way like they used to during Christmas Eve. I think that each of them feel different because they're mom is not there. It's just the starting for them to feel like this. I think that not all of them feel justified at this moment. On the other hand, grandpa is trying to make it feel justified. Larry and Curtis are always at each other because they don’t like it this way. Tree is being humble to himself. Grandpa is trying his best to help them out, all of them. Dad is always busy and feels exhausted at this moment. They all felt different.

  3. Larry and Curtis are always at each other because they don’t like it this way. Tree is being humble to himself. I think that they should just stop what they are doing and just get it over because and I think that it is really to disrespectful to talk back to the old people if that guy was here I would kick his ass just for doing that to the elder that is very disrespectful to talk back I wish his mouth is cursed like black magic or something so that he can learn his lesson not to ever do that again.

  4. Tree's family is spending their Christmas eve without his mom. Everyone is so sensitive and mad at each other for no reason. I think they just don't know how to let it out. It would be better if they had a conversation. If they told each other how they honestly feel right now, then they would be able to help each other out as a family. They might actually be able to learn more about the importance of a family. I think the grandpa is the only person who really tries to deal with the situation and help his family. He gives advices as an adult and as a family. I think they weren't really justified because they're mom wasn't with them like any other Christmases.

  5. As grandpa said, they don't need any presents. I think what they really need is to invite their mom and join together. Christmas is all about care and love. If their mom with them, it would be a better Christmas. Then everyone won't be mad at each others, because to me, it seems like they were mad because the mom is not together. So I don't think the were really justified.
