Chapter 13 - All American Girl

What does it mean to be a part of the "In Crowd"? Samantha makes a list of the ways to tell that you are a part of the In Crowd, do you think she's right?

  1. I think in this chapter Lucy i sjust being so nosy about Sam's where about and who'd she been withthe whole time she was gone. Now she thinks that Sam and David are going outand Sam is denying every speck of it. i think in this chapter Lucy should just mind her business and not tend to Sam and her where about. I'm guessing that being so famous and all is getting on Sam's nerves because she can't even take the bus anymore TO school. i think in this chapter Sam feels that everyone is determined to make her life a living hellespecially the reporters and their camera.

  2. For me I think that Sam means that everybody seems to be on your side, I mean I think that’s what she mean by the “in crew” thing. I think that somehow Sam is right about the list, I mean your coach never calls you just till now. I think that Sam I listing most of the things an “in crew” would do, for an example Kris invites you to her party right after talking about you. I think that Kris just wants to make her popular but it’s useless because Sam didn’t bring the news report. I think that Sam made a good point about the coach thing because the coach doesn’t like you then all of a sudden you’re like his like his number one student in his class… I think that’s just stupid.

  3. What I really think about this in crowd thing is just a freaky thing because why all of a sudden people are being nice to her, do they want to be on to T. V just being her friend? I think that that’s what they want to be noticed like how Sam is right now a NOTICE to the world, are they just using her to get the their pictures on the news paper and stuff?? I think that this people are insane not knowing what Sam is been through they think that’s it a lot of fun, which Sam think its not..

  4. Everyone in the school and outside of the school notices and pays attention to Samantha and she really sick of those flashes of camera. Even the teachers are asking Samantha about the incident like the reporters. Mostly, Samantha totally hates her sister Lucy, because she reveals the rumor that Samantha and David are going out which is not true. Besides, Samantha likes Jack who is Lucy’s boyfriend and Sam thinks as Jack as her soul mate. In my thought, even if you were not interest in someone, but when you keep hearing about that person, you should get an interest.

  7. after a morning of working out, ready for our very healthy and very nutritious cake breakfast. We were quickly greeted by the owner (and head baker!) Jill Williams, seated at a table and presented with a tasting platter of slices of cake. One of the first things that pleased me greatly was how busy the business was. There were customers in the rear, also tasting through a platter and Jill informed me that has a busy day ahead of them of more tastings, and more cakes to be delivered/made. Talk about a small business dream, from start to booked in a matter of weeks! As for why, Jessica will speculate below.

The Moon is Earth's only known natural satellite,[nb 4][6] and the fifth largest satellite in the Solar System. It is the largest natural satellite of a planet in the Solar System relative to the size of its primary, having a quarter the diameter of Earth and 1⁄81 its mass.[nb 5] The Moon is the second densest satellite after Io, a satellite of Jupiter. It is in synchronous rotation with Earth, always showing the same face; the near side is marked with dark volcanic maria among the bright ancient crustal highlands and prominent impact craters.

  10. The Moon is a differentiated body: it has a geochemically distinct crust, mantle, and core. The Moon has a solid iron-rich inner core with a radius of 240 kilometers and a fluid outer core primarily made of liquid iron with a radius of roughly 300 kilometers. Around the core is a partially molten boundary layer with a radius of about 500 kilometers.[23] This structure is thought to have developed through the fractional crystallization of a global magma ocean shortly after the Moon's formation 4.5 billion years ago.[24] Crystallization of this magma ocean would have created a mafic mantle from the precipitation and sinking of the minerals olivine, clinopyroxene, and orthopyroxene; after about three-quarters of the magma ocean had crystallised, lower-density plagioclase minerals could form and float into a crust on top.

  11. The topography of the Moon has been measured with laser altimetry and stereo image analysis.[29] The most visible topographic feature is the giant far side South Pole – Aitken basin, some 2,240 km in diameter, the largest crater on the Moon and the largest known crater in the Solar System.[30][31] At 13 km deep, its floor is the lowest elevation on the Moon.[30][32] The highest elevations are found just to its north-east, and it has been suggested that this area might have been thickened by the oblique formation impact of South Pole – Aitken.

  12. Most of the Moon's mare basalts erupted during the Imbrian period, 3.0–3.5 billion years ago, although some radiometrically dated samples are as old as 4.2 billion years,[42] and the youngest eruptions, dated by crater counting, appear to have been only 1.2 billion years ago.[43]
The lighter-coloured regions of the Moon are called terrae, or more commonly highlands, since they are higher than most maria. They have been radiometrically dated as forming 4.4 billion years ago, and may represent plagioclase cumulates of the lunar magma ocean.[42][43] In contrast to the Earth, no major lunar mountains are believed to have formed as a result of tectonic events.

Liquid water cannot persist on the lunar surface. When exposed to solar radiation, water quickly decomposes through a process known as photodissociation and is lost to space. However since the 1960s, scientists have hypothesized that water ice may be deposited by impacting comets or possibly produced by the reaction of oxygen-rich lunar rocks, and hydrogen from solar wind, leaving traces of water which could possibly survive in cold, permanently shadowed craters at either pole on the Moon.[53][54] Computer simulations suggest that up to 14,000 km2 of the surface may be in permanent shadow.

The spectrometer observed absorption lines common to hydroxyl, in reflected sunlight, providing evidence of large quantities of water ice, on the lunar surface. The spacecraft showed that concentrations may possibly be as high as 1,000 ppm.[61] In 2009, LCROSS sent a 2300 kg impactor into a permanently shadowed polar crater, and detected at least 100 kg of water in a plume of ejected material.[62][63] Another examination of the LCROSS data showed the amount of detected water, to be closer to 155 kilograms (± 12 kg).[64]

  21. They had only gone a few paces when Hermione’s bandy-legged ginger cat, Crookshanks, came pelting out of the garden, bottle-brush tail held high in the air, chasing what looked like a muddy potato on legs. Harry recognized it instantly as a gnome. Barely ten inches high, its horny little feet pattered very fast as it sprinted across the yard and dived headlong into one of the Wellington boots that lay scattered around the door. Harry could hear the gnome giggling madly as Crookshanks inserted a paw into the boot, trying to reach it. Meanwhile, a very loud crashing noise was coming from the other side of the house. The source of the com¬motion was revealed as they entered the garden, and saw that Bill and Charlie both had their wands out, and were making two bat¬tered old tables fly high above the lawn, smashing into each other, each attempting to knock the other’s out of the air. Fred and George were cheering, Ginny was laughing, and Hermione was hovering near the hedge, apparently torn between amusement and anxiety.
