  1. Chapter 4
When I read chap 4, it is about Sam carry Max to day care, and have something happen in the door check, so, Sam complain unfair about it, I just think Sam was a 17 years old boy, so, sometime, yes, his mind is still not ripe. Then when he has a meeting with Claire, he saw to her baby, is a lumpy baby, when Sam saying that to Claire, she was so grieve, I think she grieve is normal, because whoever, especially child’s mom, when they heard being not to praise their child, if is me, I thought, I’m sad too. But, in the finally, Claire still excused his unintentional. She is so strong; because of she can accept the fact.

  2. Chapter 4
I feel like Sam is trying his best. It really shows how much Sam loves him. Im hoping Max will grow up to appreciate what his father at the age of 17, is doing for him. Even if Sam isnt ready to be a father, I feel like hes trying just as much to be the best he can be for his son. Sam is kind of mean though, calling Claire's baby LUMPY! That would hurt any parent. I give her props though for being strong about it. Sam should slow down with his words.

I think he likes Claire though.

Many people like bady. I like to...
I think Sam is in very happy case. Because My homeland in KOREA
, high school students can not have baby. But Sam is going to the
school with bady. So, It is lucky. And Sam have a good friend.
    Friend help Sam's baby

  4. It seems like every one now thinks of Max when he or she sees Sam. He became a dad in an age of seventeen and now, whenever he goes, Max also follows. Sam seems busy, heading to class and the crawler room..back and forth. However, when he was talking to Claire and consoled her with the empathy, I felt that he became more protective and mature than others in the same age with him. When Claire appeared who were mentioned in the second chapter, I found some similarities of the female student with her baby and the male student with his baby who might be in a concomitant situation.

  5. Chapter 4:

This chapter was somehow interesting to me. I think that Sam was very happy and really excited to see and old crush of his; Claire Bailey. Claire Bailey seems like a nice girl. I also think that Sam was surprised when he found out that Claire was going to the same school and that she also has a baby. I have a strong feeling that they will both soon start to like each other and start going out. By the way Sam sounded; I can tell that he is starting to like her again. It’s almost as they were in eighth grade all over again.

  6. In chapter 4, Sam seems he is little tired of taking care of Max, because Max wakes him up at 5:30 in the morning. Majority of students won’t like to wake up at 5:30 in the morning to take care of their child. Also he had a school paper works to do, and it seems like Sam is having a hard time studying and taking care of Max at one time. Well in that age, nobody is ready to taking care of their child and studying at once. Going to his class and checking out Max seems busy for him. At the end of the story, he met an old friend who also had a baby like him. I felt there are behind story between these two characters.

  7. In chapter four, Sam seems impatient when he goes through the scan, to me he makes it seem like the world is unfair to him. Sam freaks, when he finds out Claire Bailey has a child. Sam gets impatient when he gets scanned and I think he is just ticked off because he feels the world is out to get him. A new relationship with Sam and Claire would soon start I can feel it because on the previous chapter, when Andy mentions her name Sam reminisces about her.

  8. I feel Sam’s anger toward the people operating metal detectors. I feel that they discriminate him, just because, he’s a boy. But Sam isn’t a bad person just because he’s young and he’s a dad, it’s just things happen even not planned, unexpectedly. I’m glad he also met up with Claire, because, its time he met another girl, a teen parent. But the other girls seem ignorant and still immature. Sometimes I feel like Sam like the whole world is against me and it’s just me against the world.

  9. Ch. 4
Max didn’t fall asleep because Sam couldn’t remember what “nap schedule” was. At this point it shows that Sam doesn’t really know what to do with a baby yet. He tries to get what to do but he can’t. Now that Max was always around he was the alarm clock for Sam in the morning. Sam brings Max to the day care. Max was crying when they got to the day care but Sam didn’t know what to do with him. So some people gave him suggestions on what to do. Sam meet’s up with Claire Bailey and gets so shock. He sees her holding a new born baby.

I think that Sam is starting to feel a little bit better because he is not the only student with a baby. I also think that all the hard work that Sam put out is starting to pay off. I also think that Sam is starting to be a little bit responsible but he still forgets some stuff. And I also think that it is not good to sleep in class but I think he deserve it because he has been straggling every since he had Max. I think that Sam is starting to get use to the routine because he has been doing it for the few days.

  13. I think that Sam is still not getting into the habit of following the schedule for Max. Sam is so stressed out that he can’t even think straight. I think that Sam is the only guy I know who is the one taking care of his baby, usually it’s the girl. I think it’s very manly of him. Its not easy to come home from school and take care of a baby and have homework at the same time. I think that even though Sam is struggling he will prove to everyone that he can do it. If I was to put myself in Sam’s shoes I believe that I will be struggling just as much as he is now.

  14. In chapter four of “Hanging on to Max”, everyone is telling Sam what to do and how to do it. Sam is a smart kid and he is a father now so the other students should have not made him feel bad. I think that the other students should help him but not when they know he can do the obvious things on his own. Sam should know how to raise a child on his own considering that he is a single parent with a little help from his father and aunty. I was happy for Sam because one of his old friends’ (Claire Bailey) from his other high school was there. She was holding a baby, which was hers. I could tell that Sam and Claire would have so much fun together considering that they are in the same school with the same situation.

  15. In this chapter is a sweet part of all the things happening to a certain a lady that will miss her baby for the first time. Sam is an amazing dad that he can handle any hard time in life. Max is such a sweet baby and so perious baby. I was wondering who pays for the day care for Max, when it didn't mention about Sam working. all i know is that he goes to school then picks up Max from the day care. Am guessing his dad pays for everything. Well at least the dad is helping. Sam is such a caring person he cares about other people. Even a good helping hand. This is a good chapter to read over and over again lol.

  17. I think this book is really cool because in this chapter Sam is in the nursery place and he is hanging out with the other parents who are there to. I think Sam is being really helpful towards the new parents like his friend Claire bailey she is a new parent who is actually struggling in her first day with her new born and I think that what Sam did was really cool and helpful for him to carry her baby and calm Claire to is such a nice thing for him to do for her. I think he was really shock to find out that it was claries.

  18. Chapter 4
I like how Sam handles Max whenever he cries out loud. I can imagine him being so worried not to wake him up or else he starts crying again. I believe that Sam is a hard working student/parent. On the other hand, people shouldn’t be telling him what to do like what just happened at the entrance and the metal detector. They should know by then that he has a kid and that there’s no way Sam would bring in a weapon. I think they just want to give some people hard time. However, on the way to the day care, he met up with someone. And Wow! It was Claire Bailey, his former crush. Claire was a bit sensitive about this day care thing. It was her first day with her baby, Emily. She was a little younger than Max. Even though Sam is responsible but sometimes he can forget things like Max’s extra clothes. Still, he is a really caring and loving teen-parent.
