Chapter 6 - How to Ruin a Summer Vacation
Post your 100 words comments here for chapter 6 of How to Ruin a Summer Vacation
Chapter 6 I feel sorry for Amy in this chapter because she just saw her grandma from her father’s side and she gets really anxious. It’s her first time, but for me, I would have trouble thinking what to say, and then I would panic. If people were watching me, just like when they were scrutinizing Amy while she was trying to greet her own grandma. I would be seriously angry if I were her for not having any privacy at the least.
Amy enters the house with Ron to meet her grandma. I think Amy felt a feeling she never experienced before the moment she saw her grandma. Amy runs out the house with tears. I guess she was scared and didn’t know what to do. Just like I thought, she actually wanted to meet her grandma and now more about her. She was pretending like she didn’t because she doesn’t know how to be true to herself. After Amy runs out the house, she meets one of the guys she met in chapter 5 again. Amy thinks he is good-looking, but doesn’t like his attitude. Then she sees a dog that chases her. Amy runs from the dog, and she falls on the good-looking, rude guy. Then comes her cousin O’snot who sees them together. In my opinion, I think O’snot likes the guy.
Now the moment she's been waiting for, her grandmother. I don't know what happened there but, i guess she still couldn't believe that her ONLY grandmother doesn't know about her--not till now. So when she walks in, she get so nervous with everyone just standing there and watch her meet her very own grandmother since the last one past away. She just stops there and doesn't move. I think she feels that she's being watched from her every move. I think that she's right. If i was to meet my unknown grandmother of sixteen years, i would mind if people were watching me... especially if they were watching and analyzing my every move... not to mention my reaction. I think that they shouldn't make her first meeting with Safta seem like a spectacle, even though their not but she still feels like it.
Chapter 6 well i think her and her father's problems weren't over yet and she intends to run away from it but then she get caught up with other problems. I feel that her and Ron should sit down and figure out how things will work out between them. However she should tell her father how she feels through out the whole trip they had together. Till then she meets her aunt and uncle which they have no idea she existed including her grandmother.
I entered the house slowly and peered inside. A kitchen is right in front of me. I follow Ron to the left and find a woman sitting on a rocking chair next to a window. She has white hair massively peppered with dark strands. She finally meets her grandmother and starts to cry. She runs out of the house and starts to run until she can’t run no more. Then she tries to jump a fence, not evening knowing what’s on the other side, but no-shirt-cute-jerk shows up and tells her not to jump or else she enters a war zone.
Chapter 6 I felt sorry for Amy when she met her Safta, grandma. I think that she was ashamed to greet her grandma in front of all her family. Those people shouldn’t just stand there and stare at her like she’s a little kid who needs to be watched and hear to what she has to say. They should give her some privacy with the grandma especially when it’s her very first time to meet her. Amy felt so emotional when she saw her grandma. Most of all, she was so nervous. She didn’t know what to do or say. I think that I would feel the same way as her. I wouldn’t even know what to talk about with my grandma.

For me, this chapter is sorta depressing. It's the first time she sees her grandmother and she feels so bad. With her family staring at her, she feels as if she's being put on the spot light and she can't screw it up. It's to much for her so she runs out of the house as far as she can go. I feel so bad for her, I wish i was in the story to calm her down. The last part of the chapter was funny. She seems to be comfortable with NO-SHIRT-CUTE-JERK, with his arms around her but what is this??? Him, NO-SHIRT-CUTE-JERK is her cousin's boyfriend (hahaha....) to good to be true
This chapter is sad. I didn’t expect Amy to get so emotional. But she wasn’t for long. So she keeps running till her legs gives up then she meets this guy. I know she feels for him but you know Amy, she won’t show feelings because it’s probably too sensitive and it might make her look weak. But then Amy ha her ways and we can’t do anything about that. So she thinks his hot but in the book I remember reading a part where it said something about this guy being a cousin! Or at least her cousins boyfriend.
The most significant moment, the time where Amy gets to meet her poor Safta, was just lost when Amy began to run out of the room. Why did she do that? I understand her being nervous and embarassed because of surrounding stares, but she should've ignored it and face her grandmother. It might make her whole family think that Amy doesn't want to see her Safta at all. Bad choice, Amy... Well, it might be a good choice, in the other hand; She gets to see the tall, handsome, no-shirt-guy again. Amy seems to be a bit discomfortable around him because he showed unwelcome signs to her. However, if it were me, I'd just enjoy seeing the hot guy for the whole day! After running away and being chased by dogs, she made another misunderstanding; leaning against and hugging no-shirt-cute-jerk. I didn't know that he'll be O'snot's boy friend! (I like this kind of unexpected happenings, since it gives a more tangy flavor to keep reading the book.) First, O'snot and Amy didn't have a good impression in each other. Second, Amy is caught stealing O'snot's boyfriend. Whoa, now she's causing a real big problem! I'm looking foward to the next chapter!
I don’t think Amy should’ve run out of her grandmother’s room. She probably made her grandmother feel weird. If my grandmother was dying, I’d never act the way Amy did. So, she ran out of the house and ran somewhere in Golan Heights. Wow! I’d never do that. To run somewhere especially if your not familiar with that place. I’d probably be say that’s a dumb thing to do. The part I enjoyed the most in this chapter is, when no-shirt, cute jerk saved Amy. I bet she’s going to fall for him, but she can’t! That’s her cousin’s boyfriend.
