  1. From reading this loving most touching book, I did enjoy reading this book. I love how it ended with Avi… (Once again trying to be the gentlemen that he really isn’t but still tries his best) takes Amy away to a special place to eat with her favorite food on the menu. They didn’t really go to a restaurant or anything, just the outdoors to a special place. I like the ending a lot although I still didn’t want Amy to go yet. I like how he had a special place set up just for the two of them. The candle lighting was just as beautiful picturing them in your head rather than just reading and understanding. And just two pillows for the two lovely couples. His surprises for her were so touching. He knew what she loved most, sushi… her father told him about it. The other one with the roses and most especially with the crazy mutt MUTT. I think it was the best gift out of all. I hope that Amy goes back to Israel for the summer again just to be with Avi once again till he’s out of the army. Then maybe when he’s done, he could probably move in and well, live with Amy and her father till she’s old enough to live on her own with Avi. I really did enjoyed reading this book and I was hoping that since there’s a second book to it, I just hope it continues on till a happily ever after with Avi and Amy.

  2. I loved how the book ended. First of all, Amy character really changed a lot. She hated to go to Israel at first, but made it her best summer at the end. She learned about Israel, her family, and how much she loves her dad. She seems like she's grown up. What I hope to see happen in the characters are, I want Amy to be more polite because she so mean to the people she first met. I hope Ron finds the right woman for him, since Amy's mom already married Marc and didn't want to marry him. Avi should really get his sad family problems over with so he wouldn't be angry and sort of grumpy all the time. O'snot should also be a little more kind and honest to herself so she wouldn't have to cause any problems she had with Amy. At this last chapter, Amy is already back at Chicago with Ron. She's actually staying with Ron! Her mom has already married Marc. I was sort of disappointed at this part, because I thought her parents were going to get married when I first got the book.Avi is in the military sending letters to Amy, and I'm so happy that she's not dating Mitch anymore! I think almost everything turned out as I wanted it to be. I hope Avi and Amy's love for each other will last long. Their last date at Israel was so romantic.

  3. I really enjoyed reading this book. Amy really changed for good. I hate it when she had to leave Avi. I wished she could stay back a while but it didn't end like I was expecting it would be. It was sweet of Avi to give Mutt to her in remembrance of him. Mutt is a really good dog. I am happy that Amy got along great with all the people she met in Israel. I thought she would leave the place without a chance of getting to know the people and just be the same American-spoiled brat. But it turned out perfect for Amy. I think that her summer vacation was the best that she ever had. All the love that she felt from her safta and especially from Avi, she learned to love back and to never forget everything about them. It's sad that she's leaving her family in Israel but I hope she comes back the next summer. I think Avi is really going to miss Amy. I wonder how, though, they're going to keep their relationship on when they're going to be so far away from each other and that Avi is going to be in the military? I just hope it doesn't end that fast and I hope they can find ways to meet up with each other some day or call each other. I'm also happy that her realtionship with her father improved. She feels more closer to him now. It's good that Amy told him about her and Avi. She's a good girl afterall. I'm looking forward to reading the other part of this book. This is one the best books that I've read so far.

  4. I really love this book. I think I learned a good lesson from this book. I like how it ended because she improved on relationship with everyone in Israel. I think that she needed this trip to help her change for the better. It actually did change her. I wonder if she's going to be the same when she goes back to her home. I wonder if Amy and Avi's relationship will last long especially when they're going on their seperate ways.

  5. I don't know if it was my expectations or anything, but I guess I wanted more of the book; something like, Avi following Amy back home, Amy's mother canceling the wedding with Marc (with a "c") and end up getting married with Ron, or the other Israeli relatives coming to the U.S. for touring. I just needed one drop of an exciting adventure, but oh well... At least it's a happy ending...Still, [How to Ruin a Summer Vacation] was such a funny, touching, and interesting book that any teenager would give and A++.
Throughout the chapters, all of the characters changed, not dramatically, but step by step. Amy flipped her attitude to a non-spoiled understanding American teenager with a pride for her Israel blood; Avi changed from being a hard, cold, no-shirt-guy to a smooth, reliable hottie; Osnot is now a caring, open hearted sweetie; etc etc... The book not only changed the characters, but also the reader- me! How the scenes switch me from sad to happy, shocked to relieved, and angry to emotional is still a question I'll never know... I've learned and felt a lot from this story, and I'll never forget it. Another great book.

  6. Chapter 30
I really enjoyed reading a book like this, because somehow I never really tried reading a book with so many things that actually were put into detail in real life. So I guess with this book in mind, it helps me understand what a teenager would do; like overlooking and trying to guess what an unpredictable young adult would think like. Even though I am one of those kids that are always random about things, I know well now to watch myself and keep alert of many things that endanger myself and others, just like Amy and the rest of her newly linked with buddies. What I hope to see more of the characters is to watch them change themselves for the better, especially Amy since she's the star of this book, I want to see her expand herself to be even friendly and hope that she doesnt' cause anymore problems like she did early in the story. But I guess that's her characteristic and just like us, she's unique, adn I hope others have enjoyed it as well.

  7. I love how the book ended! This is how I was expecting it to end. I liked everything about the ending except that her mom really got married to Mar with a “c”. I didn’t like the fact that Avi and Amy’s relationship was still on the same level as it was when it first started. I actually wanted their relationship to go a little bit further. I hope Avi and Amy remain close to each other, as in they are still a couple, I want Amy and Ron’s father-daughter relationship to be stronger than where it is standing. Mostly, I just want Amy and Avi to be a real couple and I hope everything works out for Amy!!
