Chapter 29 - How to Ruin a Summer Vacation

  1. Holy cracking walls!!! I thought for a minute there that Amy’s aba was dead, but thankfully they got a call from them letting them know that they’re safe and sound heading home. I almost cried when Amy was talking about her false actions and all and how bad she treated her aba. I felt sorry for her when she said she probably wouldn’t get a second chance if her father died in the bombing that occurred in Tel Aviv. Amy was so happy when she heard the news from her cousin Osnat that her father was still alive and that she would get a second chance to make up for her mistakes. Amy finally had the courage to say she loves her aba. Amy loves her aba and she wants to move in with him. I think she made a good choice of moving in with her aba once they get back home.

  2. At the beginning of this chapter, I was so scared because of the stupid bomb incident. But because of this, Amy realized how much she really needs Ron in her life. She's also become a true Israeli now. She knows how to think of her people. The part I liked the best here was when Amy says,"I'm going to make every second count" and when Avi says," You get a second chance." There are always chances in life, and all you have to do is to take that chance. I think this chapter is even better than the last chapter. Amy als told Ron what he wanted to hear. "I love you, aba." This is so touching.

  3. Amy just realized how much she really loves her fahter, Ron. She almost thought that she lost him but he was alive. Amy is so lucky that he's okay. I can tell that she thought it was the end already. She thought she would never get the chance to let her father know that she really love him and how thankful she is for taking her to meet her safta and everybody. She wouldn't be the kind of person now if her father wasn't there. I can feel Amy's emotions and thoughts when she found out about where her father was. I think that Amy has a lot to say to her father. She's keeping everything inside of her and I think it's time that she express it to her father.

  4. I can tell how Amy felt when she heard where her father was at. If I was her, I would go crazy and go there to find my dad. I wouldn't even wait for him to call to let me know that he's okay. I can see that Amy really DO love her father. I think that she just realized that she really do love him and all. I can see Avi is trying his best to comfort her but she's in shock and panicking. Poor Amy! In the end though, I was so happy to hear that Amy's father was okay. He wasn't injured at all. I thought it was the end for Amy. I felt like I was going to faint when it came to this part. It's great to hear that everything is okay.

  5. I am so happy that Amy is willing to tell her father that she wants a fresh start. Amy IS really changing. I never thought that she would tell him until this day came when she realized that she needs to tell him and he's out there where a bomb just exploded. This trip dd change everything about Amy. It felt like they lost each other and somehow find each other. I really felt that Amy is becoming more peaceful. She is very loved by all the people that she even imitated them. It was a good example from Safta.

  6. Phew, what a close call! Thinking that Ron and Chime is going to die, I almost chocked myself, and so did Amy. Because of how the book describes Israel as a modern country, I almost forgot that it's also a warzone. I'm glad Amy learned the importance of having Ron, especially in this way. Most people don't know how precious a person is until the person is actually gone. Anyways, it's such a relief that they're all safe from the bombings, and nobody is hurt.
But... what if Ron and Chime had died?
what if there was a telephone call not about how assuredly safe they are, but how urgently hurt they've become?
This will be a whole different story; maybe Amy will think it's all her fault for hating her own father and not doing enough for him, and she might share her pain with Avi, thus making them more closer to each other. Still, which ever way, Amy will find the importance of Ron. (But I'm still glad he's alive!)

  7. Chapter 29
I really almost wanted to cry myself when I read this part. I didn't really expect Ron to be one of the luckily surviving victims in an area that close to them! If they hadn't survive, I probably would have a hard time reading a book if there was something compared to this. It's a a good thing they survived, I was kind of overjoyed that Ron was one of the army members so I guess it was a relief and shouldn't be worried too much about. But I have come to realize that reading chapters like this makes you spurt out you emotions and it's a thing to share. But Amy, I am glad you were very fortunate to still have your caring father at your side!

  8. Chapter 29
When they get back home from the camping trip, Amy and Osnat notice a mood of somber. Amy then realizes that Ron is nowhere to be found. They watch the news as Doda Yucky tells them that Ron and Uncle Chime went to Tel Aviv to deliver some meat to some restaurants. There was a bombing that went on and some people are injured and I think some died. This leaves Amy to worry about Ron. This chapter reveals the true love Amy has for Ron. When Ron returns back home Amy spills her guts and finally tells him that she loves him and that she’s sorry for being such a pain in the butt. I’m so happy about the outcome of their relationship and I’m glad that Avi was there to comfort Amy.
