  1. Vince’s father turns out to be more than just a regular company owner and Vince goes through unusual situations because of it. It’ll keep me questioning myself about the awkward situations that were always involved with my dad; diamonds in the lunchbox, dad out of the house, fist and punch prints on apple pies, a dead man in the living room at midnight, and a vandalized home… I think it’ll be hard for me to believe that the soft and sweet dad in the house is the same man that works as the head of a crime organization. Chapter 2 is exciting when it shows the true identity of Vince’s father, but it is also critical when Vince’s response does not follow his father’s desires.

  2. Vince’s family isn’t like other families. Vince’s dad runs a vending machine business and Vince thinks it’s a soft drink kind of business, but little does he know that it’s different. I think Vince believes it because his mom told him that the reason why his dad, Anthony Luca, leaves in the middle of the night is because a vending machine is down. Vince woke up one night to get a drink and he finds blood on the kitchen floor, leading to the room of his parents. If I was Vince, who found the blood I’d go ballistic. I mean why would blood be on my kitchen floor. He follows it and he comes to find that his mom and dad are taking something out of Carmine’s butt. His mom tells him that it’s a kidney stone, but Vince asked his teacher about it and she said that kidney stones don’t come out from the butt. He gets a new car with his own money and I think this is a good idea because he won’t have to worry about it being taken away.

  3. Chapter two wasn’t really interesting. Not as interesting as chapter one. It just pretty much describes or introduces the characters, and how good Vince’s dad is, and what kind of reputation he has. How he’s the boss. The only part that kept me up was when he was talking about Angelo having issues with his brother Tommy. How his mother asked for assistance in the kitchen and out of nowhere he’s screaming and leaving the house. The mom is really interesting she show’s a good model. She’ll always be there for her boys even though her husband is a boss. These chapter even talks about how Vince wanted to get a car, and they were saying his dad could easily get it for him, that was also interesting for me because I have experienced a little something like that.

  4. Chapter 02:
In this chapter is retelling his story when he was six year old. He said had a lot of uncle that have the craziest names, for an example uncle pamper and uncle long nose is a stupid name because it’s like you’re telling people that the reason why they call him uncle long nose is because he have a long nose. So I think that in this chapter been in Vince’s life is harder than I thought… anyways being a young boy who do even know if that his real uncle is hard because it’s like you don’t know who your real family anymore. I kind of don’t like this part of the story because its showing that Vince has no chose but to call them uncles because his dad says that they are his uncle…

  5. This chapter wasn’t as exciting a s the first; however I found the childhood stories he was reminiscing about, amusing. Especially the part where he was telling the story about Angelo, who seem to have a problem with Vince’s brother Tommy, and how their mother asked Angelo to help her in the kitchen next thing you know, he’s screaming and running out of the house. I find the mother to be a really interesting character, because not all wives would approve of their husband being in the mob, let alone the boss of it all, but she does and no matter what she still looks out for her boys, so I really like her.

  6. I had sometimes to imagine that if my father was a gangster. I thought over and over again, but I could not release away the feeling of betraying that my father would given to me. However, Vince would feel the same things I feel. As Vincent does try to understand his father’s job, I would do my best to trying to understand my father too, because the aspects that will show to others will be very hurtful to get doubted with my father alone. This chapter made me think about my family.

  7. I feel sad about Vincent Luca because when he was kids, he doesn’t know about his father’s job and when Vincent was high school student, he knows that his father is the mob and when Vincent was 17 years old, his father ask him to help him and work together, but Vincent said “No“, because he don’t want a be a mob.
I think. His father will be change… because Vincent’s older brother Tommy and his sister’s husband is already help him. But Vincent doesn’t wants to help so. I think he got a disappointed
    To Vincent.

  8. If I were in Vince’s situation right now, I would feel the same reason being because he tries to find out where does his father really works. His mother keeps on telling him that the father works at a place of vending machines. Which he doesn’t really believe because his father wasn’t always home all the time, and he’s always wondering why his father is working every week day and night. His uncle lent him a car once while he was out on the road; a police man pulled him over and takes the car away. He didn’t know that the car was stolen, while his uncles found it funny.

  9. In this chapter Vince starts to figure out that his father doesn't really work at a vending machine company and that he's actually in the mob. His father had to leave in the middle of the night because a vending machine was down and Vince woke up in the middle of the night to get a drink and finds blood all over the kitchen floor leading to the parent's room. So he follows it and he sees the parents taking something out of carmine's butt. His mother says that its a kidney stone but when he asks his teacher about it she says that it doesn't come out of your butt. This chapter also talks about how he wants a car and that his dad could get one very easily. So when he takes the car on the road a cops pulls him over and he finds out that the car was stolen so he decides to get a car with his own money. I think that it was a good idea so that no one can take it away.

  10. This chapter shows Vince’s childhood. When Vince was about seven years old, he starts to know about his father’s business. He knows that the words coming out from his father is not the truth. I felt sorry for Vince, because he was too young to see and understand what his father’s doing. But on the other hand, I surprised about Vince’s own thoughts of his father. He was different from his older brother. Besides stepping on the same path of his father, he is trying to choose his own way by rely on this thought. This chapter was kind of interesting because it showed the truth of his father’s business.

  11. Chater 2 is talking about Vince's father and Vince. His father is just a regular company owner and Vince goes through unusual situations. Vince is about the same age as me. This makes me feel closer to Vince and to know him better.
