In chapter 2 she is being and ass to father because she doesn’t want to go to Israel, I think she should calm down and just go with the flow and maybe she might get something good in return that will benefit her future and that might even help her.
So there on the way to Israel in the plain and she is hoping to try and run away from her dad and hoping that sleep so that she can get away from her dad so that she can go to her tennis camp.

  2. Amy decides to go to Israel with Ron, but she still doesn’t want to go there. She’s thinking Ron ruins all her summer plans. She calls Jessica and plans to run away, but Ron comes and stops her. Amy and Ron get on the plane for a twelve hour flight. As Amy is in the plane, she mostly watches T.V. Then she suddenly wonders if Ron wishes she wasn’t born. Amy asks Ron what she has to call her grandmother and Ron says, “Safta.” Safta means grandmother in Hebrew. I think Amy wants to know more about her grandma, but just not expressing her feelings.

  3. Amy thought at first that this was Ron's way to start over his fatherly
job that should've been done a long time ago, but instead... it was to
visit her ill grandmother. So there they were at the air port waiting for their flight from being delayed. i think its pretty stupid how she tried to run away from her father at the air port. i mean seriously come on, why try a crazy thing like that. i think Amy should just sit back, relax, and enjoy her trip to Israel. She'll never know what good may come her way.

Chapter two was an interesting part for me on how the teenager girl does many things against what her “father”, Ron Barak, tells her to do. I guess I understand her a little bit on what she goes through because she despises him for not being with her all the time throughout her life like a real father should be. If that ever happened to me, it will be kind of hard since I don’t have American-like parents. But even so, it is a great book that will allow me to keep reading.

    - I think that it’s good that they’re going to Israel to visit her sick grandma. Amy says, why should I go visit her? I only l knew she existed yesterday… or something like that. Its best to know someone or everyone from your family than to never get to see or speak to them at all. I never knew my grandfather, he past a year before I was born. It sucked to never have saw him because I heard a lot of cool and new things that I’ve never heard anyone do before , but I never saw him with my two eyes.  Anyway back to the story, She really dislikes her father for not being there for seventeen years and now he comes to see her he takes her on a trip to Israel to see her sick grandmother. bleh...

What I think about this chapter is that it talks about how Amy’s flight got delayed and that she told Jessica to pick her up at the terminal. What bothered me was when Amy’s father barged in and took away her phone and told her that if she agreed to get on the plane with him he would lend back Amy her phone. This chapter excited me as well due to how it talks about how she didn’t want to go to the war zone which is Israel, but she had to in order for her to visit her ill grandmother. What surprised me was when Jessica knitted her blanket and how Amy thinks Jessica’s grandmother lost her virginity from Michael Greenberg

  8. Amy expects her father to be perfect! Nobody is perfect. She can’t blame him for everything. If it wasn’t for him she wouldn’t even be born. All her thoughts are just cruel. I wonder when the time will come, where she will be more respectful and nice. She doesn’t realize all the things her father does just so she can see the other half of her family.

  9. Chapter 2
Amy can be really stubborn at times. She doesn’t give anything a chance like going on this trip. Of course, she would be disappointed at her father for not being there for sixteen years and all of a sudden he just shows up out of nowhere and takes her away but I think that she should be glad that her father came to see her at least instead of not showing up forever. It’s difficult for Amy to deal with it because she’s never felt how it’s like having a father being there 24/7. So I think that it’ll take time for her to get use to it. Yes, she is upset about her father but she should try her best to cope with her father and listen to him and maybe it’ll be alright.

  10. Chapter2:
I think that Amy is just trying to make Ron mad. And I think Amy is not the can of girl that wants to be a perfect daughter Ron. All I thing is if Amy give Ron time to get to know her then it will be ok for the both of them. And I think that Amy will like it in Israel.

Well this chapter maybe going to be about getting a bad grad on the important assignment that they were doing or maybe getting a job so he can live on his own or taking the SAT test and had no money to pay for it so maybe he ask a friend or I don’t know that is what I think this story going to talk about

  12. Amy is too negative about riding the plane, going to Israel, staying with his dad, and meeting her grand"mudder" for the first time. The uncomfortable atmosphere between her dad was making her more irritating about it all. I still understand her frustration about the ruined summer plans, but she still has to do what's already given.
At least Amy is going to spend the time getting closer with Ron, and I'm sure she's going to learn many things from it. I see her noticing trails of her country already; the prayers of the Jews in the plain, and the first step to her language (saying "Safta").
Although there wasn't any special events or particular problems in this chapter, it showed the beginning of the real scene that's about to happen very soon. I'm looking foward to the whole story and how her "ruined" summer will result.

  13. Chapter 2
I think Amy is over reacting to the situation she’s in. I don’t think Ron would ever bring Amy to a place where her life is on the line. Ron seems to be the patient and understanding kind of father, Amy should at least thank him for putting in effort in their father-daughter relationship. Amy is really negative and like I stated earlier about her over reacting, does she really think her father would bring her into an airplane where there’s terrorist. I feel sorry for Ron, by reading the book I can picture him getting all irritate. Amy doesn’t know what her summer has to offer, so she shouldn’t just jump to conclusions. I wonder how she’s going to react when she sees her safta for the first time, she seemed really interested…
