    Chapter 17
    Uh-oh! A lecture from Ron, which I hate getting from my parents, even though it's good for me. It kind of made me angry that Amy and her father are fighting again.. Can't they get along already? I got impatient reading the chapter with all the seriousness with each other, well, mostly Amy. I can't believe all the time she spent in Israel, she wants to come home in America already until she changed her mind. While talking to her mom about it, Amy has just been told has just been told that her own mom will marry a Marc, who has been called dork by Amy. It made me sad at the same time too that Ron won't have a chance with Amy's mom anymore.

    Ohmygod (oMg)! I just can't believe I taught they were getting along but instead she was being lectured from her father. Which I myself hate especially when it comes to lecturing I just hate it when parents do that but I know that they do that because they care and they want what’s best for us. However I am pretty much disappointed because Amy and her father are arguing again. Also that her mother is getting married with Marc, her father not having a chance to be with Amy's mother pretty much that made me tear and cry I mean everybody deserves a second chance and their kids would want their parents to be together to be as a family.

    i think amy's father did try his best to be or make them a family but amy's mother was just too dumb to see that, or she was probably scared of what her father might think or say... or who know, what he might even do to amy's father. And for amy, i believe her safta was right about her. for a teenager like her, she has a hell of alot to be dealing with at this age. i think amy should just let it all go now because its so obvious, how many times her father asked her mother to marry him and she just told him that she wanted someone solid to be amy's father... not some israeli immigrant. i thought that was kind of rude of her to say. i mean come on, her father loves her and wants to be with her. he wants to be there for her but, i guess her dumb mother just doesn't want that. but at least he comes every year for her birthday.

    Ron is upset with what Amy did earlier. Everytime Amy's attitudes seems to get better, it just becomes worse again. I think Ron has tried his best, but not he's really tired. I guess he sort of want to give up on her now. Amy calls her mom and hears that she's getting married with Marc. She feels disappointed, lonely and sad at the same time. She's also mad at Ron until she finds out the truth. That Ron has actually tried to marry her mother. Ron tells Amy that he cares for her which changes her mind of going back home. Now Amy took another step to becoming closer to Ron and she'll be able to understand and love him soon.

    Amy should've be talking to her father like that. I think that Ron was just trying to help her out with something but Amy is acting up again. If I was Amy, I would listen to my father and see what he has to say and then I can say whatever but Amy doesn't think about how her father feels and what he says to her. She just wants everything to go her way. I think she is an America spoiled brat. I bet Ron felt hurt deep down because of how she reacts and what she said to him. I have a feeling that she's so pissed off at O'snat and maybe her mom, too, and she's putting her anger on her father. I think that Amy going to her Safta for help is right. I wanted Safta to like talk to her, too. I think that Safta is a good guardian.

    I understand her pain about being abandoned without a father for sixteen years, and her feelings mixed with disappointment and resentment towards Ron. However, I think it's time to loosen up, and open up. Amy closed her heart way to long for Ron to wait for; Amy was not the only person waiting for a dad, but Ron himself was waiting desperately to get her back. How could she say she wanted to go back home when her father's trying so hard? It's rude to try to hurt someone who truely cares about you, even if they don't seem to show it very often. He's still Amy's father, and that can't change no matter what she tries to do.
    I thought that Amy and Ron will finally be more comfortable and open to each other, but I guess not yet. It's her pride AGAIN that keeps her relatives far from her. I wish Amy tries to do more for her dad, and give him some love.

    Chapter 17

    Here comes the father-daughter war and lecture! However, This chapter kind of made me teary. Finally Amy hears the answers she been waiting for. She use to blame Ron for her life being so messed up, but now I think she can understand him more. Even when I read the book, I started to question myself, why didn’t he want to save his relationship with Amy’s mom. With all the facts that she knows about Ron and her mother’s relationship, she should take it easy on him. I feel sorry for Ron more than I feel sorry for Amy. All these times she accused him of abandoning her and not being a good father, she finally learns why he stayed away from her all these years.
