I think that Amy is wrong about saying that she doesn’t fit in this kind of society, where she’s at right now. I think that it’ll take some time to find out if she belongs there. I think that she doesn’t have patience and that she’s not really humble to her father. Even though that Amy and her father are having issues with each other, I still think that Amy wants to make her father feel proud of her. I am also glad that she’s feeling at home now in this place because she’s been talking to several of her families now and it’s building up the relationship that I think she really needs.

I think Amy should at least get along quicker with O'snat and Avi because I can tell that it's going to be worse than ever if she keeps going on with the bad attitude she always has. But I understand how she couldn't change who she is, so I have to let the story flow. At least she got along with her littlest cousin, Matan, and Mutt... to say the least. But I am still wondering how it's going to end up! I guess I have to keep reading.

  3. My opinion is that even though Amy and O'snat aren't getting along, she should try as much to just be on the cool side with them so that they will decide on getting along as well. Her Family as well should start giving Amy some time to be apart of them because she has an attitude that makes her not want to give up. I think that there are times that Amy and her father have somethings that makes them not talk, However Amy just wants her father to be proud of her.But my main point is that will Amy get along with her Dad's family especially her cousin O'snat and her friend on the other side Avi???

  4. I think amy just hasn't opened up her eye a bit to understand that, anywhere in this world... she does fit in or she does belong. And hearing this "NOT THAT IM JEALOUS" i believe that she is, but just isn't showing it at all. She does hate her cousin Snotty and she does like Avi.. from my point of view. Anyway i still think her attitude needs to change and herself indeed. Another thing she needs to open up with are animals... lol. As i read this book, i believe amy should get to know her family a little more. i mean i know she's talked with every member of the family but, the one she hasn't really been with is her other little cousin Matan.

  5. Amy some time to be a part of them because she has an attitude that makes her not want to give up. I think Amy just hasn't opened up her eye a bit to understand that, anywhere in this world. Amy and O'snat aren't getting along; she should try as much too just being on the cool side with them so that they will decide on getting along as well. 6. I think that Amy should just get over the fact that her and O'snat will not be friends and that mitch doesn't care and that her dad doesn't cook for her at all!.. Amy says she doesn't have friends, but i find that wrong.. her little mutt really likes her and he can't get enough. Then comes a little boy named Matan..i think he's so sweet bringing her flowers, and i think Amy was so sweet by being so kind and letting Matan join her in the hammock..lol..after all that Amy then realizes that she just got a new friend..

  7. During the two weeks, Amy spends most of the time with Safta and get closer to her. I think it's a good thing that Amy is opening up her heart for her new family. As she hears many interesting stories about her family, she learns many things. She wouldn't have thought it would be this fun and enjoyable if she didn't come to Israel. I think she would have regreted. While I'm reading, I feel the similarities between me and Amy. Some examples would be wanting to sleep all day, being lazy, and love eating.

  8. It's nice to take quality time with her grandma, but I think it'll be also nice if Amy takes the chance to get closer to her dad, her cousins, and her country, Israel. Since she's closer to her Safta than ever, Amy should start taking steps a little forward. I wanted Amy to be more active in participating family routines (like shaving sheep wool) even though it's not her style. It looks like she's only backing away, trying to avoid accepting new things. Amy keeps saying that she "can't fit in this society" but I think she's not TRYING to fit in the "society" she's talking about. Sure, maybe she's still not use to the culture and lifestyle, and maybe it's all too much for her all of a sudden. Still, it's not like she could go back in time and never let this situation happen. The best thing she could do is stick on the present and come back to reality!

  9. Chapter 10
Amy’s safta has cancer. That’s really sad, but I hope the Chemotherapy will help her out. In the beginning of chapter 10, Amy’s safta asked her what her father cooks for her and she lies! Maybe to protect her father, but still she should build a relationship with her grandmother based on lies. I admire little Matan and Amy’s friendship; he’s the only one that likes her besides her grandmother. This chapter was pretty boring, not much to write about, I hope the other chapters are more interesting. Like I said, I want to hear more stories of Amy and Avi. It’s really interesting reading the different cultures and rituals they do, that in Saipan we can’t even envision.
