  1. This chapter is interesting and most important of this story. Because maybe from this chapter, the story start to talk about box, Granny a old lady who is Lina grandmother, and she lose something and that thing is about her father. So, from here, I guess, maybe that is about that box when we read THE INSTRUCTIONS. And then, when Lina went to send a message to her friend, a girl who name is Clary, that is an only fresh and green place in the city of Ember. From here, we can know the fresh thing is so rare in there. And, she with Clary meets some people and hears that something they talk about.

  2. Chapter Four,
I like that Lina imagines a lot. It’s good to have some imagination especially if you are living in a city like Ember. I can’t believe granny would forget about poppy and the interesting part about it is, she was looking for something her grandfather, the seventh mayor of Ember left behind. Wow! Finally the chapters are heating up. I wonder if granny will ever find it. I hope so…. When the Ember citizens talk about the Unknown Regions I get curious. Just because they don’t have light to guide them through the Unknown Regions doesn’t mean they have to give up. If I was living there, I would give it a shot and maybe I’ll return back home or maybe not.

  3. Lina’s grandmother is searching for something, and I think it’s the box. This chapter was not so interesting until Clary and Lina heard someone coming from the Unknown Regions. It’s fear which stops people from going all the way and turn back. The City of Ember is going scarce on supplies, and whatever is being thrown is being re-used if possible. It’s dumb how the people continue their lives to do what they do, and not ever think about another place other than the City of Ember. There should be a way out besides the Unknown Regions. I wonder if there is someone watching over them, or they are just forgotten by the Builders.

  4. This chapter’s name is something lost, noting found. One day when Lina had been messenger for several weeks, she came to home to check Granny form the couch onto the floor, ripped up a corner of the couch’s lining, and was pulling out wads of stuffing and Lina said “what are you doing?” and Granny said “something is lost” and Lina said ”what is lost” and I think something important is lost. If you lose something that is important is sad. So, I don’t want to lose anything that is important to me.

  5. Ch. 4 Something Lost, Nothing found
In this chapter it was kind of funny for me in the first parts because Lina’s grandmother had been starting her forgetfulness. I probably would laugh if I saw the way she talked and the way she looks like. But what’s sad is, she forgot that she was taking care of a baby. She forgot about the baby because she was looking for something in the couch while baby Poppy was downstairs at the shop covered in yellow yarn. It’s also funny how Lina was making fun of her grandmother saying she can remember many things in the past, but she can’t remember what happened the day before yesterday.

  6. Chapter 4 something lost nothing found
I think this chapter is going to be base on lina lost something or the other worker and maybe they look for it for weeks and didn’t found it yet well that’s what I think this chapter is going to based on

  7. Lina’s grandmother was looking for something and it sounds like it is an important to her which Lina’s great grandfather gave to granny long time ago. Lina tried to look for it but he gave up, and I think what granny is looking for was from great grandfather who was a mayor of Ember before. That day Lina went to the green house to deliver the message to her friend Arbin Swinn at greenhouse. While she was in the greenhouse, one man came from the darkness which was an unknown region to them. This book is getting interesting; I wonder what is behind that region

  8. I thought that this chapter was pretty normal. It wasn’t really boring. I think that Lina and her grandmother should have a babysitter to look out for Poppy. Her grandmother is starting to be forgetful and if she keeps forgetting about Poppy, it is really dangerous. Something bad could happen to her. Like Lina said, “she could’ve fell down the stairs and hurt herself or wander out into the streets and get lost”. I wonder what Lina’s grandmother was looking for if it was so important. I felt sorry for the man who got hurt while he was trying to look for something. It’s so strange how he was the fourth person who did that and got hurt.

  9. I enjoy reading how creative, imaginative and curious Lina is. It leads her to so much. Though, the grandmother is really getting old. And she cant always be the one to watch poppy. Lina is still a kid. It will probably be hard for them to find a babysitter in a place like the city of ember. The box that the grandmother was looking for got me curious, Im thinking that its the secret to the city of ember. Or maybe the way out. Or probably something that will probably resolve all the unusual happenings in the city of ember. Im getting much more interested as I continue to read and find more mysteries.

  10. This chapter was about Lina’s week days of being a messenger. I found out that Lina lives with her grandmother who has a problem with forgetfulness. That seems pretty worrisome because her grandmother has a responsibility to take care of Lina’s sister. Also, when Lina had to deliver the message to Clary who worked with Lina’s father, it recalled the memories of her father. However, when Sadge showed up with dirty appearance with a shocked face, I found out that this he was trying to find out something that is on the darkness. But since there was no light..he could not find any. The way he talked about the horror stimulated my imagination that what would really be in the darkness.
