Saipan Southern High School book club members and other island teens discuss their books of interest by writing their thoughts about the book choice of the month.
Theresa, who was the maid of Samantha’s family, was the one who dropped Sam to the Susan Boon’s Art Studio. At there, Sam met a cute boy named David and he said that Samantha’s boots were nice. For this reason, Samantha did not feel so bad opposite of her expectation and Ms. Susan was good and funny. When Susan asked the students to draw the fruits on the table that they see, Sam just decorated and put more fruits. Then Susan scolded Sam in front of everyone.
I think it’s funny how Theresa treats these kids like they are her real kids instead of the real parents. It’s funny how sam just talk back to her like she really doesn’t care. I love the fact that Theresa always make the right chose by sending sam up to the studio but at the same time it’s kind of childish and embarrassing because sam is old enough to walk the stairs up to the studio but, like what Theresa said she know what sam would always do. It’s funny how the bird cut of some of sam hair. I think that maybe if sam was one of those people who just don’t know how to control their temper then maybe she would kill that bird. It’s nice to have at least somebody that kind of look good than a person who actually go to a class and everybody is so ugly. (I’m not trying to be rude but that’s what I think). I like the fact the David comment her with her shoe I think that David likes her.
It was the first day off her Susan Boone Art Studio class, the house keeper is the one who dropped Sam. As they entered the door they a bird shout them and the maid house keeper got scared, Susan got out from the other door in the same room and scolded the bird, Sam expected someone taller Susan was just short like elf looking type of lady she had very long hair a white long hair, Susan introduced Sam to the rest of her classmates, she was told by Susan that she needs to draw the fruits that where sitting on the table that was sitting in the middle of the room..
Chapter three was like forever long. Theresa who I’m guessing is the housekeeper in Samantha's home was the one who dropped her to her art studio class. From what i read Theresa seems to be a nice person. I thought it was funny how the bird pulled out Sam’s hair, hope nothing more comes off, lol. I really like Theresa and how she treats the kids. She treats them as if they were hers and she shows a very good parent role model. I like how Theresa takes care of the house living because Sam’s parents are just too busy to take care of that. I like this character Theresa. I also enjoyed reading the part where Sam was being conceited about her drawing.
I didn't know the perspective of art could be so different, epecially the way Susan Boone sees it. Her statement of "Draw what you see, not what you know" confused me a bit, and I think Sam was more puzzled than I was. Samantha is a creative and artistic drawer herself, but because she didn't get the compliment she wanted, I can tell her ego was scratched by Susan's teaching. For one thing, Sam HAS been a little too proud of her skills and HAS acted like she was Picasso or something; That's what you get if you're not humble...
This chapter was kind of interesting to me because I like to draw and I interested in art. Sam went to Susan Boone Art Studio after the school. I think Sam likes David because David was about Lucy’s age, he was tall and cute. The funniest part was when Susan was giving her some advice about Sam’s drawing because Sam thought her drawing was the best one and she thought Susan will be so happy to see her drawing. It reminds me when I was learning art, my teacher told me same thing as Susan. She told me I have to draw what I see not what I know.
