Chapter 7 - City of Ember

Based on what you have read so far, what characteristic do you like best about the main character? Why?

    I like that Lina doesn’t give up on her imaginations. She imagines a lot and I believe that’s good in a way because it gives you hope instead of misery. It’s very hard for me to give up on things especially if I know they have a sentimental meaning. Lina is a messenger and she runs a lot. I wish I had that part of her, I don’t like running but since I join sports I have to get use to it. I like how Lina is very caring towards her family, in other words, she’s family oriented. I’m very close to my family and my family is a big part of my life.

    I like Lina’s determination to find the reason why the grandma cared so much about a box. She must find the way out, and tell the rest of the people. It’s good she’s open with people too, and especially Doon. She should be because he traded with her in the first place. Unlike other people sucking up to the City of Ember, continuing their normal lives as if it couldn’t end any second. She runs and runs for answers. No time wasted, every time is spent carefully because she acknowledges from the blackouts everything is getting worse. She’s different and that’s what makes me want to read this book.

    This chapter’s name is a Message Full of Idoles. This story start at the Lina’s printing day. It was the printing that sparked Lina’s curiosity it was not handwriting, or if it was, it wat the neatest most regular hand writing she had ever seen. It was more like the letters printed on cans of food or along the sides of pencils. Something other than a hand had written those words. A machine of same kind. This was the writing of the Builders. And so this piece of paper must have come from the Buider too. Lina gathered up the scraps of paper from the floor and gently pried open from the floor and gently pried open poppy’s f’sts wads. She carried to her room. When every one was sleeping, she discovery. She discovered this letter? She so smart! I wish I could be like her. The best thing feom her is…she so lucky that she got a message full of Idoles and she is so smart and her imagination is far ahead. I wish I could be like her.

    The paper is written from builder, this is remember by me the story begin, when chief talk to chef builder. But, when Lina check this letter, that is uncompleted, I don’t know, what secret about this letter, but, just, yes, that is about when we begin to read this story, but, she still not find something in this paper. But, I believe this letter is a new way to help city of ember. I don’t know what feel of Lina, but, I know my feeing, yes, I just like Lina because of she is a special girl, when we beginning story, you can come to know, she likes job was different to other people, and she also is a girl of definite view, when she written a letter to mayor, we can seeing. And yes, feeling that she gives to me is kind, brave, there is subjectivity, enthusiasm and ripe, just is a special girl. I like her always like when I read a book name is CATALYST the main character Kate, they all is special girl, and strong girl. Like when we like some people are no cause by ourselves, because just follow you feeling. Isn’t?

    Based on what I have read so far, I like Doon who has a strong mind of security to save the city of Ember. And I like the fact that he tries really hard to discover about how to light. He has full of curiosity which makes me to think that he will do something...Something about city of Ember. He brings some positive assumptions that might bring more ideas to make a better life for the people in Ember. He not only care about light but also every single resident in the city of Ember. What he desperately wants to get make the readers to predict what is going to happen next

    Ch. 7 (A Message Full of Holes)
    The paper that Lina saw her baby sister chewing on was a letter that probably had been from the builders. The paper did not look much like it was hand written. It looked much like it was typed in some kind of machine. She probably wanted to find out what it said on the letter so she decided to get the other pieces of paper out of her little sisters mouth. If I was in her situation I would do the same thing to put the papers back together so I know what it would say. If that letter was something that the mayor was suppose to do to make the City of Ember look better and be better I think that she should let the mayor read it so the people won’t look at him as if he is bad and dumb or doesn’t do anything for the city. Not only the mayor would look good, but Lina too cause she helped him.

    well I think this chapter is going to be based on lina trying to solve so kind of words that are mix up I think she was trying to make a story out of the words that are mix up but she can get few words put together that’s what I think of the chapter

    Lina found one old box at her closet and her baby sister was chewing the document which was in the box. The box and the documents don’t look like ordinary things. When she gathered all the papers, it the words were all broken up. She tried to figure out what the document is about. I believe the document is some kind of solution to the city, because it seems like the box was the one what granny was looking for before. Well it was almost impossible read the words on the document because her baby sister chewed it. She tried to get some help from other people to read the document, but they were all helpless they didn’t care about the document. Then she thought about Doon because she knows that he will be willing to help her.

    This chapter was very long, but it was also interesting to read. In my opinion, I think that the paper Lina found in the box is instructions for the city of ember. I think that it will somehow help their city in a way. I also feel that her friend Lizzie and Captain Fleery should have really listened to what Lina was trying to say about the message in the box. I also think that the message was something that shouldn’t have been ignored by the mayor. I think that Lina will soon figure out what the message is and her and Doon will somehow work together to find solutions for the slight difficulties the mayor was talking to the people of ember about.

    I admire Linas creativeness, imagination and curiosity. It always leads her some where. It may be up hill or down hill but she still learns just as much from both. So anyways the paper that she found looked really important, which had lead her to try and find out what it meant. That messaged as was described in this chapter, seemed like it was that lost box that had been lost earlier from a less honorable mayor, which probably holds the resolution or maybe instructions to solve the crises in the city of ember. I think that Lina and Doon wil be the heroes in the story. I just have a feeling that they will be the ones who save the people from the wretched crises.
