  1. What I like about this chapter is that Lucy in a way is trying to help Samantha with her art lessons, but Samantha doesn’t need any help from her. Samantha is failing German due to her art work in her book for that class. I like this chapter because Samantha tries to argue against her parents about art but they wouldn’t give in. Samantha knew from that moment that Lucy had something to do with this. I like the fact that Lucy is being helpful and all but it seems to me like she was just getting Samantha into more trouble with her parents. I like the fact that Samantha is an art fanatic, she draws whatever she likes and see’s during her surroundings. It’s funny how they wouldn’t get along with each other and would always argue about small little things. Lucy now made a big decision by telling her mother about Samantha and now Samantha has to take art twice a day Tuesday’s and Thursdays. Lucy’s trying to help out Samantha and telling her that she can be a famous artist just like Georgia O’Keeffe. It made me laugh to when she said that she was a famous vagaina artist. Samantha didn’t want to be a famous vagaina artist like Georgia O’Keeffe. But like I said Lucy is just trying to help out Sam with her art. I like this chapter because between these two sisters’s they have their own likings in a way and that’s what I like about this chapter.

  2. Samantha, a sophmore girl who lives with parents and two sisters, loves art and has an conception of art herself. Samantha's older sister Lucy has a boyfriend named Jack also loves art, so there is a connetion between Jack and Sam, but Lucy does not understand Jack. One day, Samantha got a C-minus on her German class, because Lucy spoiled Smantha's favor on drawing, so sam should have to go take the art lessons twice every weeks. I can understand Samantha's feeling, because I usually ask to do my favor to my sister.

  3. Samantha Madison got in trouble for having a C minus in her German class, she was told on by her sister Lucy that all she does is draw in school, her parents were upset about it so what they did to Samantha Madison was made her join the Susan Boone Art Studio for like twice a week Tuesday’s and Thursday’s, Lucy was just doing these because she wanted her young sister to be a famous artist but Samantha doesn’t buy a thing from her sister that just got her in trouble. If I myself was ever told on by someone for what I’ve done bad I would probably CRY!!.

  4. This chapter is like okay for me but at the same time it is kind of confusing. The reason why I say this chapter is kind of confusing is why her sister doesn’t just force some make-up on her if she wants her sister to look like a girl. I think Sam got the right to have what she want she want. She don’t have to take what the sister already have used, I think that what the sister is doing is not even helping her have a better life. I think her sister should just take Sam out and does girl stuff if that’s what the sister want Sam to be. If the sister want Sam to be a girly-girl than maybe she should take her and do girls stuff like go to the mall because Sam said she hardly go there. I also think that her sister should stop trying to make Sam in trouble I think that Sam got the right to fail her German class because she doesn’t like to speak German. So if her sister did not go through her stuff then maybe she could just have a better time.

  5. Chapter one didn’t really talk about much. They pretty much just introduced the characters in the story. I understand where Sam is coming from when she explained herself and her sister’s way of doing things. I learned the Sam is sort of like he black sheep in this story. I liked the part where Lucy found Sam’s drawing in her room and revealed it to her parents, and her parents think that’s the reason why she’s getting a c-minus in German class, because the drawings are in her German notebook. I find Lucy to be bit confident about herself, a bit too confident. I like Sam at this very moment. I think she’s like an Alex from the Friction.

  6. Just by this short but bold chapter, I noticed the personalities and behaviors of the characters. First of all, I assume Samantha is a little cynical teen who's obsessed with art and the problems of this world- war, poverty, money- somewhat like a rebel. Lucy is the popular cheerleader type that would take charge of the school with fashion and boys. Rebecca looks like a young, but very, very intelligent genius who might be the next Ablert Einstein. Personally, I like how all of the characters are different and unique, and I also like the way the story is beginning. It makes my curiosity go wonder!!!!
